We were passing through and stopped on earth day. We hiked around the trails near wast beach. Roads are smooth and plenty of parking. There is a gate. Entry fee $10/car/day. A fun place for kids with plenty of rocks to scramble over and nice views of deception pass. Worth a stop if your driving by.

We were staying in the Oak Harbor area and did the 15 minute drive to Deception Pass State Park. The views from the bridge and surrounding area is spectacular enough, but the hiking trails take you through some beautiful forest areas with amazing views. The trails are not too difficult for anyone in reasonable shape. They are very well maintained... More

This park has a wonderful feel, sits among old growth forest. Each camp site in the forest loop is fairly private. Oh did I mention the camp sites sit in o;d growth forest. The beach is not far and take the trail to the north beach at low tide. You can hike to the bottom of the bridge, then take... More

It's a beautiful park. Deception pass is an over 1000 foot bridge connecting Whidbey and Fidalgo Islands. From the bridge you look out on the Straight of San Juan de Fuco and the San Juan Islands. Steeps lead down the banks. The walk out on the bridge is a little challenging but the view is breathtaking. Interesting markers and signs... More

The trip to Deception pass took about an hour and a half from Bellevue . The Bridge offered excellent and breathtaking views on all sides . it was a long iron bridge and we really enjoyed the walk with cool breeze hitting our face . Do not miss taking the trail and spending time in the beach

I have heard about Deception Pass and how pretty it is, words don't do it justice. This place is just gorgeous! You need a discover pass unless it is one of the free days and you can stay past dusk. If you want a good view of the bridge, go towards the amphitheater, this would be a great place for... More

Lovely time admiring the scenic view from the bridge. If you have time you can also follow the trails and hike through the woods or stroll down by beach.

My family visited this park one sunny Saturday while on Whidbey island. There wasn't a lot of parking available at the park, so a lot of people were waiting around for spots to open. After finding a spot we hiked 0.2 miles uphill on a well developed path to the Deception Pass Bridge. Nice view of the bridge. Later we... More

Great place to walk and more perfect for picture taking. Naval planes and jets fly overhead making an extra special treat. Go in the evening close to sunset. You won't be disappointed.

My boyfriend grew up here and wanted to show me this bridge. I thought, what's so great about a bridge, but the view of Mt. Baker was beautiful. There were trails to hike under the bridge. We saw seals and lots of wild flowers. It was a beautiful sunny day. The robins and meadow larks were singing.
