On the way to Renton with my mum and my sisters to visit our aunt for early Xmas before they going to H.K in next week , we stopped in Leavenworth for two nights and three day to see the Xmas light , surprised my family never been here , I am here almost every December , if I am free and a good time to visit Leavenworth is first two week in December , not over crowd and the weather is not too cold plus lot of great deal rate for the hotel , happy to find out , now you do not need to wait for Village lights to flip on , it is on all day , less overcrowded with tourist more enjoyable walk around , it is a great place to visit or mini get away , only four hour drive from Vancouver BC on Hwy 2 . lot cheaper go to the Island !

We found Leavenworth to be handicap unfriendly. With Front Street being closed off to vehicles and no readily apparent designated handicapped parking anywhere near the areas that are closed off, it was more of a challenge than a pair of senior citizens (one in a wheelchair) were willing or able to undertake to try to find parking and then push the chair for blocks. We called around to a couple of restaurants asking about handicapped parking and they all said, "it's a problem". If it's a known problem/issue then fix it! Unless, of course, they just don't care.

Whenever I think of Leavenworth, I picture this area - the park, the street, the shops. We come to Leavenworth 1-2x a year and we always make our way towards this area. We were just there in January and the lights are so magical. It is definitely the hub for the area for activities (like the ice carving that happened while we were there). I love that kids can sled there during the winter!

The lights and decorations are absolutely amazing! Small hill is ideal for children to sled. Gazebo protects from rain.

Beautifully lit up for the holidays. The park itself isn’t too big. Has a little hill for the little kids to sled on. The street is nice and wide and after the snow they cleared it out. Still a little icy and slippery. The shops around the park are fun to look in and shop or get a snack.

Front Street Park is transformed into a Village of Lights. Amazing light display and fun to watch the children sled down the hill at the park.

This is a cute little park and a nice place to hang out day or night. It’s right in the middle of front Street which is only a few blocks long. It’s a great area to just hang out and run into family and friends if you all happen to be in the area for an event.

Who do I need to contact for use of the gazebo for an impromptu 2 piece band concert and drama for anyone to see? Or is it free for public use?

On Christmas day, are there any businesses open or is everyone is outside strolling and sledding?

I am very sorry to say, that our family has only been there during the summer months on our visits. I would suggest contacting the local chamber of commerce, or calling a local hotel and asking them your question.

They have so much to do and see during the winter. The town is done up for the holidays and is like being in a storybook. They have sledding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, wine tasting, sleigh rides, shopping and many festivals.
