We made a quick stop on the Jetty Road for pictures of the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse on the way to the North Head Lighthouse. Nice views, especially when we caught a ship coming in.

This lighthouse has a Coast Guard crew stationed for drills or other work. You can get right up to the structure. You have great views of the river and across to Astoria, OR on clear days. The hike is steep so be warned.

The trail to this lighthouse is longer (than the trail to North Head Lighthouse) and the last portion up to the lighthouse is paved but quite steep! So wear good walking shoes and be prepared for sore muscles the next day! But for those that...More

It's a short hike through the woods up to the lighthouse point. The views of the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean are absolutely breathtaking!

This was a nice light house, with about a 1/2 mile hike. This hike has some pretty steep uphill and downhill areas. My 4 and 5 year old did great on the hike, but was very difficult to take our 7 months old grandson as...More
