We hiked in the Artist Point area on July 27, 2016. We did not want to slog through a lot of snow so just did the short steep (for 60 year-olds) climb from the parking lot to the summit of Table Mountain. This summit is about midway between Mount Baker and Mount Shuksam and provides beautiful views of these peaks... More

I went in May 2015, the snow was piling high. The road to Artish Point was closed, only accessable by foot, but what a great hike it was to walk up, spectacular views every step of the way ! Anyone can do it, including families with young children. Just pack your car at the bottom shortly after Picture Lake. Dont... More

I've never seen Table Mountain so bereft of snow. It was sad seeing it this way really. The hike was warm even at that elevation. I hope we get an early cold season and lots of snow. Our glaciers are melting! Over the ridge lies Chain Lakes. Good camping ground. See you next year to check out snow line.

short hike from Artisit's Point parking lot, incredible views in all directions once on top, careful with small children as the trail is narrow in places with sharp drops

If you park at the Artist Point parking lot, you already have a lot of altitude. That makes the climb to the the top of Table Mountain a lot more accessible. The first portion is a fairly steep climb to the top, followed by mild ups and downs as you traverse the length of the mountain. Many people stop shortly... More

If you are visiting Artist's Point and want a short hike that's a little more challenging than Artist's Ridge (which is exquisite!), the hike up to the top of Table Mountain is a great trail. It is fairly short and not as steep as it looks, but the view from the top is amazing. You can see a panorama of... More

If you want to see a good sight of the mountain, you can either hike up if you are an adventurer, or ride the cable car so you can see the whole of Glacier. When we got there, the weather was excellent at the start of summer. They say it is also great to come by every winter time. You... More

We were making our third trip up to Heather Meadows when we found out the road to Artist Point was already open. During our previous two August trips Heather Meadows was under snow and the road up was closed. At the top a ranger suggested we take the short hike up Table Mountain. It was perfect for our 4 adults... More

It's a short hike and the views (along the way and roaming up at the top) are quite impressive. There was still a whole bunch of snow in September. The trail is exposed with some loose rock/gravel so watch your step (and kids - they may be more sure-footed with a lower center of gravity but may still need some... More
