We used to go to High Knob with our family when we were kids. We returned during this trip to celebrate the lives of our dad and his siblings. It was beautiful, the weather could not have been better. We had a picnic and then hiked around taking in the spectacular views. A good time!!!

Long drive up a very narrow, windy road, but worth it!! Short walk up to the tower for spectacular views of five states! (Also wheelchair accessible!) Wear shoes or sneakers, not sandals like me. Since you are over 4000 feet up, it can be very windy and much cooler than down below. (69 degrees below, and 63 degrees on top... More

High Knob Recreation Area offers an excellent outdoor experience for anyone who likes outdoor sports and beautiful views. The overlook at Flag Rock and the Observation Tower have amazing views of the Appalachian Mountains and the reservoir offers fishing and swimming options. The primary roads are newly paved and in great condition. There's also a statue of "Bigfoot", locally named... More

Tower is drive able and also wheelchair accessible. Beautiful spot to gaze. Curvy roads to get there but worth the drive. Also stop at flag park and overlook

We only stopped long enough to hike to the tower but it was really nice and quiet. Unfortunately, it was also really foggy that day and we could not see farther then the tops of the trees.

This is a must do when visiting Wise County. The drive up the mountain is very windy but worth the trip up!

It was worth the drive to see the view from the top. If you have to stop at flag rock I would highly recommend it. Also, Google the location because the location listed on the app was wrong.

This is a beautiful park, with camping sites, and a beautiful lake with the coldest water. I have been going to high knob since I was born, and Mom and Dad spent their honeymoon here.
