Fun slice of history

If you enjoy historic houses, this is a must-see. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and the house was lovely. I also enjoyed the log cabin across the lawn.

Like so many reviewers, this home belonged to long distant ancestors. We had family in town, so we drove out to Winchester for the day. Our guide closed up the gift shop and took us on an excellent tour of the home. She knew the subject area well, and was able to answer questions we had about the area and... More

I have never been inside but the property is gorgeous and has an extensive garden in the back along with a gazebo. Other than a quick walk around the property there isn't a whole lot there.

While planning a trip to historic Northern Virginia, I discovered this home built by my Quaker ancestors. What a delight! The tour guide was very knowledgeable. Since I live in Oregon this was a special treat to actually see how my Colonial ancestors lived.

Visited Abram's Delight (built in 1754) last week and had a wonderful private tour of the home and grounds. Our host was well informed and passionate about the home, it's history and the history of the area. Nicely furnished with many original pieces that help personalize the tour. Tour included the basement with original kitchen. It is believed that George... More

The oldest house in Winchester, this place is magnificent. It has a treasure trove of period furnishings and tools. Our docent was very knowledgeable and her enthusiasm showed. It was one of the best old house tours we have done. Be aware that it is not in the old town as one would expect. It was a farmhouse and, at... More

This is one of the earliest homes built in Winchester in colonial times and now maintained as a living museum. Adults and children will find it interesting and informative, providing a glimpse of life among merchants and land owners in colonial America. Conveniently located near Winchester Visitors Center and Shenandoah University.

Great museum! Our guide Helen was so knowledgeable about this beautiful home, the family that lived here, the tools for that time period. It takes approximately 45 minutes for the tour.
