We took the bridge over to the Isle of Wight, and rode the ferry back. Cut our trip in more than half. Nice way to see Jamestown from the other side.

There is nothing spectacular about this ferry except that it is free. If you enjoy being on the water, it is nice. The few attractions in Surry are not open daily; some persons go for the restaurants.

This ferry is operated by the government and doesn't cost you anything to get on. Sometimes you have to wait but it is worth it.

An outsatanding ferry boat ride, especially at sunset or sunrise. We used it to get to a very good restaurnt on the western side pf the James River (more like a lake at this crossing).

Took this to get to Smithfield from Jamestown. Very relaxing and a quick ride over. Surprised that it doesn't cost anything.

Yes, but you may not get turned around in time to catch the same ferry and will end up waiting for the next one. about 20 min.

You can walk on the ferry on either side but you'll need to arrange transportation on each side, especially the Surry side. There is a great seafood restaurant close to the ferry. The ferry is alway fun. Enjoy it!
