We visited Water Country USA yesterday. We had no trouble finding a shady place to sit for the day. The kids enjoyed the water rides, but the lines were very long & the wave pool/lazy River were really crowded. The food was overpriced and not good, and you aren’t allowed to bring in outside food or drinks.

The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. It was nauseating walking into the bathrooms because of the smell. The walls were visibly gross and it was obvious no one was cleaning them throughout the day. Taking small children into this bathroom was incredibly stressful.

I would not recommend visiting Water Country to anyone.

We purchased passes to visit Water Country for a specific date August 2022. We traveled from out of town, arrived at the park and at 9:49am, 11 minutes before the park opened, received an email stating that the park was closed for maintenance and that we would have less than 2 months to use our original tickets. NOT that we were receiving a full refund because THEY closed the park and inconvenienced us. We scrambled, bought new passes for Great Wolf Lodge and called the next day to get a refund for Water Country. Not everyone would be able to shell out an additional $230 on top of the Water Country passes to save the day...I was promised a full refund. It has now been a month, I have had to call 3 times, spending at least 30 minutes on the phone each time being put on hold so they can check my account and today I received a partial refund. Livid does not begin to describe how I feel about this. This has been a waste of my time for an issue the park created. I will never visit Water Country after this customer service.

This was our first time going and I found the park to be very difficult to navigate. The directional signage is terrible and there were several times when we took wrong turns just trying to find a ride or the entrance to a ride. I would definitely suggest trying to plan ahead how you want to move through the park otherwise you might end up doing a lot of backtracking. We were there on a Sunday so most of the lines weren't too long, but there were a couple that we waited in for a long time. There was one attraction, Aquazoid (?) that was closed the entire day until we were walking out around 5pm, we saw that it had opened up, so that was disappointing.

We had a cabana because we had someone with us that has mobility issues and we thought it would be a good place to rest. Looking back, I wouldn't say it was a total waste of money, but I don't think I would do it again. It didn't get used enough to justify the cost. I think I would use the money spent on the cabana to purchase the quick passes instead which would probably be about the same amount.

Overall, I would go again, now that I somewhat know the layout and how to get around. But it's not a priority park.

Nine of us including an 8 and 4 year old, went to the park on a weekday. We reserved a cabana so we had a spot in the shade. Expensive but I am glad we did it.
We all loved the wave pool the best, the other rides are lots of fun, but you know going in long lines. Too long for me on a 90 degree day. Day goes by quick because a good chunk of time is waiting in line.
Food is OK but very expensive, way more expensive than other places we have been to. A meal is going to run you over $30. Parking is also another 30 or so.
Overall we all had fun, and might go again in the future when we are in the area.
Fun but long lines and very exoensive.

The kids loved the slides, tubes and other rides. But I was looking for some cooling off in the wave pool to beat the 95 degree day. Not going to happen when the water is tepid.
The food offered to those with the All Day Dining option is bland and all the same - pizza, chicken fingers or a tasteless burger. Just pack a picnic in your cooler and leave it in the car and go out to the parking lot (close) when hungry. Or spend the extra to get real food in the park. You won't spend much more than the add on price for the All Day Dining

The website said nothing about only 4 rides open, or just one place to eat, plus a snack stand. I understand it’s due to staffing issues, I Guess? I doubled checked the website and it said two rides closed. I’m still paying full price for my ticket with only half the park open! Just beware before planning a trip to Water Country!!!!

Large water park with lots to do for all ages. There is everything here from bigger more adventurous water slides toa wave pool to multiple large splash pads for the kids. We liked that there were plenty of non-slide options for those times that we didn't want to wait in a line. Overall the lines weren't terrible because there are so many options. There are many seating options throughout the park. We arrived when the park opened so we had no trouble finding seats to park our stuff. We left our belongings on a chair rather than deal with the chaos by the lockers. The whole family had a great time here.

I do need to comment on the all day Dining Plan (which I will copy into my Busch Gardens review as well). Never have I seen a promotion so antithetical to guest satisfaction. The rules and restrictions on this plan are borderline hostile. You want to get a bag of chips instead of a side or dessert, nope forget it. Better yet, you want to get a bag of chips instead of an entree, side and drink? Nope, forget it. You want a specific side? Well they will tell you which sides are allowed. If you're someone that frequents fast food chains and buys combos off those menus then this plan will be fine for you. And will be cost effective. If you like the slightest bit of choice then you might want to skip the dining plan.

Some sort of 60s or 70s California beach theme seemed out of place. The vibe just didn't hit. Nor did the slides,

No slides were exceptional memorable or unique . I would skip as visitor from afar but ok destination for locals.

Two lazy rivers and wave pool . Didn't care for wave pool.

But part was short lines on a slow day.

My wife and I just got back from WCUSA, after being told by friends that this was "one of the top 5 water parks in the country". So maybe we had high expectations. We did the e-ticket thing online, purchasing and printing our tickets at home before leaving for vacation. That went very smoothly at the gate, we strolled right up to the turnstiles, and were in. We realized at that point that the park DOESN'T RENT TOWELS!. I don't know how common that is, but we've gotten used to that option at the Disney water parks, so we didn't even think about it until we were at the park. $14.99 was the cheapest towel they sell in the park.
Locker rental was fine, we locked up our valuables, and headed off to find a shady spot to leave our stuff. That's one thing I noticed at this park, there aren't many shady areas, and the concrete walkways get very hot! Another Disney WP observation, there's a lot of vegetation that hangs over the pathways to keep them cool. There are a few areas on the paths where they spray water to cool the concrete, but not enough areas are covered. I brought my sandals, but elected to not wear them on the slides, and my wife went bare foot as well, so our feet got pretty hot by the afternoon. We went right as it was opening, and on a Tuesday (weekends are busiest) but even then by 2:00 PM the crowds were pretty bad.

As for the rides, some pretty good ones, but none any better than a Disney water park. We rate the Disney ones better for ride quality and atmosphere, and Cedar Point is also better for rides, with fewer lines (at least in August 2005) and a couple rides with more "thrill" factor. The new rides at Typhoon Lagoon at Disney, where you ride down in tubes, but then get "shot" through the course, are a real blast, as is "Summit Plummet", a HUGE body slide at Blizzard Beach (The other Disney Water Park)

The Hubba-Hubba Highway was an unexpected treat, it looks like your basic "lazy river" ride, only that there are no tubes, just you, or you can wear a life jacket, and let the current take you around the loop. There are water jets that shoot you along in some spots, and water features that spray/shoot water on you as well. It was the one unique thing that we have not seen before.

We'll probably come back again, but not for more than one day (or even a half day). I don't know if they close the park when it gets too full, but by 2:00 PM, the crowds seemed to suggest that they don't. I haven't seen another water park this crowded.

Just visited Water Country on June 10, 2010. Two of my children have life threatening food allergies to peanuts. Per Water Country's own posted rules, they do not allow food to be brought in from the outside. While eating a PURCHASED lunch under a covered area by the wave pool, I noticed a family with a loaf of bread, jar of peanut butter, and jelly packets making sandwiches next to my lounge chairs and personal belongings. I informed both First Aid and Security. I was told by the member of secuirty that I should move my belongings and my party of 9. He said, "You don't expect me to interrupt their lunch and ask them to move, do you?"
I am outraged that Water Country personnel don't take life threatening food allergies seriously. I am also disappointed that a member of their security team will not "inconvenience" rule breakers, but will "inconvenience" rule abiding patrons who spend more money by purchasing their overpriced food.
This is our FINAL visit to Water Country as it is no longer safe for my family. Those of you with food allergies, BEWARE!
