This is a very well done museum. The second floor is very informative about the building and it's history. Has a short video to watch. The first floor had a carver working on a decoy. They have a wonderful gift shop with a nice variety of items.

An excellent museum that highlights the history of Virginia Beach and also Atlantic waterfowl - both the birds and the history of waterfowl hunting in the area. During my December visit there also was a gingerbread house competition display. A nice gift shop and friendly, helpful staff. Admission is free but a small donation is requested since this is a not-for-profit facility.

The name of this museum is somewhat misleading. In addition to many duck decoy carvings, the upstairs has pictures and tells the early history of Virginia Beach and the family who lived in the home. The guide was very friendly and informative.

Beautiful location and so much interesting history and stuff to explore packed into a quaint museum right along the boardwalk. Don't miss this.

If you are strolling along the Boardwalk, consider stopping to visit this small yet interesting museum about the house and Atlantic wildfowl. The staff is very helpful and there is even a charming gift shop!

Staff very friendly and a good little history lesson of not just the wildfowl, but the building itself is a piece of history. Admission is free, but please donate a few bucks to keep this place going.

We went by here to see the Mallard Sculpture. It was just ok. But the building was nice to see. It is great to see old buildings from the time before hotels dominated the skyline.

Interesting walk-around display of bird exhibits. I'm not into bird watching, but this exhibit was edifying. Worth the brief stop.

This 1895 house built for Virginia Beach's first mayor still stands in the midst of the hotel sprawl along the boardwalk.

Nice people here. Its a walk around small building of the history of all the birds and fowl in the area. We hadn't been here in years so we decided to stop by.
