This was a planned visit, but I wish we had allowed more time. Even though the space is small (It appears to be the front space of a former camera store), the entire history of cameras is packed inside from floor to ceiling. For a mere $5, a personable guide will lead you through the timeline of cameras from the... More

The owner is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about cameras and photography. Leave yourself at least 2 hours for the guided tour (which I highly recommend). Many interesting tid-bits about not only the history of some amazing cameras but US and world history as well. Don't miss the original Star Wars light saber on display too! Well worth the $5 "suggested... More

This place was really interesting. If you are at all a camera buff this place is a must. Lots of interesting cameras from 1840's to the first digital camera. Some really interesting cameras with unique historic connections. The owner is a wealth of information and likes to share his passion.

I visited the Camera Heritage Museum this past week (Nov. 17th and 19th). I was totally blown away by the collection that I saw there. Wayne and David are great Southern hosts and experts in their field. This visit cost a whopping $5 and I learned not only fascinating facts about photography/cameras; but also amazing historical facts about our great... More

Loved our visit to the Camera Heritage Museum. Wayne provided a VERY interesting and informative tour of this FASCINATING collection of cameras and related photo gear. David was readily available to elaborate and answer questions about any of the thousands of unique artifacts. I've been a camera buff since childhood (nearly 70 years ago) and I LOVED this rare opportunity... More

The owner is entertaining and a walking encyclopedia of cameras and the history of photography. Well worth a visit to Staunton just for the museum.

While my tour bus passengers were visiting the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library, I took a walk downtown & discovered this hidden gem. If you are into photography or just want to see a lot of cameras going back well over a hundred years, this is a must place to visit in Staunton. Dave is very knowledgeable and gave me a... More

If you are into cameras at all, this is a must-see in downtown Staunton. There are hundreds of cameras of every make and model on display from the earliest big box cameras to more current models. Fascinating stories with some of the rare original models used to take some famous pictures everyone has seen. Even had an old Polaroid Swinger... More

Small place but packed with 5,000 items. Retired professional photographer husband enjoyed reviewing all of the cameras he has ever owned since boyhood. Even saw a spy cigarette lighter - the same kind he sold some years ago at auction. $5 pp . While we were there, 5 other people came in, only 2 paid & stayed for tour. No... More

Almost avoided this attraction since it cast $5 and seemed to be just a local camera shop, but on day 2 we had free tine and so we went in to find the place packed, and truly jam packed , with cameras and photographs from tintypes and early portraits and camera to equipment over the history of picture taking including spy cameras...
