Founded in May 2011, River District Arts is an eclectic group of more than a dozen artists working in a wide variety of media and styles including oil, watercolor, photography, ceramic and collage. They are the heart and soul of River District Arts.

During your visit, you will experience artists at work in spacious, inviting and light filled studios. You will have an opportunity to talk with them about their latest creations and browse our Confluent Gallery feature regularly changing shows by local and regional artists. An adjacent Artisan Market features fine hand made craft from Virginia artisans.

Plan to experience a wonderful selection of tapas and traditional Spanish cuisine at El Quijote. They are open for lunch and dinner Thursday through Monday. Please call for openings hours.

Located in Sperryville's River District, RDA is housed in a beautifully restored post and beam apple packing facility from the 1930s era, with touches of sophisticated modern interior architecture combined with exposed beams, rustic wood floors and sliding barn doors.

Openings Hours: Thursday % Friday: 11 am till 8 pm. Saturday & Sunday: 10 am till 8 pm.

A few of the businesses that were there are now right behind the building before you get to the antique center. Some of them have moved up the road on route 211 to the antique center next to the CFC Farm and Home Center near Washington VA. I'm not sure which ones are there. There is a sign up that... More

This art venue has so much to see and explore. I spent a few hours just marveling at the local works. They have such a nice collection and with most of it for sale. They also have a few artist who have offices on sight, tho I am unaware of there hours or when they do showcases. They did have... More

River District is an awesome destination to view artwork from some VERY talented artists. Rappahannock is home a large number of artists. Call ahead though because word is that the building is being sold and the artists may need to relocate! I've heard many are going to Ginger Hill Antiques.

Nice place but nothing that I liked enough to even think about getting. There are some talented people displaying their art work.

Let me start by saying that I'm more than a little biased since the Artisans Market at RDA sells my woodworking. That said, I can't imagine that you will be disappointed with the quality of both the art and the artisan wares at the gallery. Everyone there constantly refreshes their offerings and the gallery very effectively show cases the works.... More

River District Arts is a gallery that is a co-of of local artisans....mostly painters, potters, wood carvers, jewlery makers and one who made art using his/her handmade paper. I particularly liked the wood pieces - many of which were made from trees that were felled by a dramatic storm that passed through the area. I had a great chat with... More

There aren't that many things to do in the area, so we stopped in here. They didn't have anything that we would have wanted to buy.

We visited River District Arts in Sperryville again in April (we've visited many times in the past) during a special show featuring our friends, Richard Young and Leslie Barham. The show was terrific and the refreshments very special. This gallery is always fun and we always see something new. I got to see our other friend, Bonnie Dixon, from whom... More

Great place to see and buy local art from pottery to photography. A nice restaurant located inside and antique store and whiskey distillery nearby. Fun destination to hit on your travels around rural Virginia.

Dear "Love to Travel". Thank you for your nice review. I hope you enjoyed our two new art shows. Please come back in spring, when the dogwoods and the redbuds will be blooming; it is Rappahannock at its best! More
