We had a very nice family visit here.

Because of the layout, this is appealing to all ages. The little ones can see things they find interesting and then the adults can as well.

My boyfriend and I are a couple in our 20's and while we were visiting Roanoke, I begged him to accompany me to the science museum. I've been coming here since I was a small child and I wanted to see the new remodeling. It was kind of a disappointment. Perhaps it's nostalgia talking but I preferred the old exhibits... More

Call me arrogant or spoiled but I go to the Smithsonian regularly for which there is no charge. This Roanoke multi-floor museum is nice but is likely about 1% the floor space of the Smithsonian and there is an admission fee to the best exhibits which pretty much precludes poor folks from visiting. I found this very discriminatory and so... More

Kids will enjoy the science museum, get bored with the butterfly garden (which adults will like, but is really quite small), enjoy the hands-on exhibits, and older kids will adore the pinball museum (worth the extra bucks). This is kind of expensive, but you can spend the whole day, so it ends up being worth it. DON'T FORGET to go... More

We are in our early 30s, and wanted to do something different and this was great! Felt like being a kid on a field trip! Thanks for a great time!

My kids and I had a great time here! There were a lot of exhibits, tons to do, and I would absolutely go back.

This is a really nice place to take your child. It has really cool thing for them to learn and is also fun for adults.

We stopped by Roanoke for a weekend road trip. We wanted to see a bit of everything and who can resist a planetarium and butterflies? The Science Museum is small, but has a quit a few things to engage kids (It was just my wife and I, not kids on this trip). We wandered around and enjoyed scanning the food... More

A few interesting exhibits but the butterfly garden was definitely our favorite. Several exhibits were temporarily closed when we went.

This is a total hit for children and adults too. You will learn regardless of your age as you interact with the many interesting exhibits. So much of it is hands on learning. The gift shop offers many educational toys and items that cannot be found in a typical store.
