A great place to stop for a bit of culture. An insight into Mauri culture and a historical lesson. Allow 30 minutes as it is small and for anyone unsteady on their feet be careful as it's a little uneven.

First thing was no disabled access. I was told by a local how to get there the back way - passing a gate that said "disabled entrance" and was padlocked shut. So, had to manage more steps than I wanted to. The woman at the desk was nice but not very interested. I spotted something that looked like a spindle... More

Promised so much, delivered so little. If I was a New Zealander I would be embarrassed. The village needs to be repaired, the native plants need some love and attention. It is unfortunate as the location and surrounding historical buildings and Pa are quite good.

Disappointed. $10 per adult entry fee. Replica huts were tired and some falling apart. Definitely needs an upgrade. Garden was overgrown which made some smaller items difficult to see. Wouldn't recommed paying the money. Took only 10 minutes to view.

The journey is covers the basics of the traditional Maori village which as a kiwi I still found interesting. My nephews loved the walks. Reasonable price and I believe original location?

A great place to visit and to see how the 'locals' lived in the early settler's day, a good comparison to the European settlement on the opposite bank of the river, the Mission House and the Stone House. I would recommend a decent pair of shoes/trainers as some inclines are challenging in beach shoes. On the whole well worth the... More

It a nice place to spend few hours with family. The location is quite beautiful and well maintained. The cafe situated in the village was excellent.
