Suitable to walk from top or bottom of falls. Toilets at both ends. Can walk from kerikeri main street or park car at top rainbow falls road and short walk to top of falls viewing platform. Do lock your car and hide your possessions. One hour each way from top to bottom.

I'd just got done 14 hours of flying from Vancouver Canada, to AKL then onto KKE. My first stop was Rainbow Falls. Wow! Not only did I really enjoy this scenic beauty but left feeling energized and rejuvenated. Well worth the visit and it's free!

Lovely spot with good viewing platforms for views of falls. Next time we will take a picnic as there are some lovely grassy spots in the bush area.

We had a great picnic lunch and swim and play at waterfall for my daughters birthday. It's great how you can swim to the back of the waterfall. Lots of fun;))

How does one review a waterfall. It's big, it's gushing, it's wet, it's worth the walk to the bottom. We did have rain at night so that may have helped the affect. I was told for everything I did in NZ that I'd need good walking/trekking shoes....not so. I did every walk, every wet track and every hike in a... More

The amazing waterfall can be viewed from a platform only about 200 metres from the car park if you are pushed for time, and it really is awesomely powerful from this vantage point, but if you are not in a hurry, and want to be treated to some beautiful scenery, then take the time to traverse the track. It is... More

Fantastic waterfall which is right next to the car park (so not much walking required). You can view the falls from 2 platforms as well as taking a track down to the base of the falls. I got some fab photos. A must do if you're in the area. If you like walking you can do a much longer walk... More

Rainbow Falls is very beautiful to look at.... but what makes this water fall stand out from all of the other many beautiful waterfalls in New Zealand is whats behind it! To get the full experience you really have to jump in and swim to the side of the water fall and climb up the rocks and go behind it.... More

If you are feeling energetic, start at the falls, and watch and hear the power of Mother Nature as the water roars over the falls, and gets a glimpse of why the falls are named Rainbow.. After a short climb down to the base of the falls, you should embark on the trail..4.3km of river/forest and rocky walking to reach the famous Stone Store... More
