If you are visiting KeriKeri a visit to Rainbow Falls is a must. Just a short drive from the township, the falls have plenty of parking and public toilets available on site. A 2 minute flat walk from the carpark is accessible if you have mobility restrictions or equipment or a pram. The main look out is quite beautiful. There... More

We parked at the Stone Store car park and ran along the Kerikeri River Track to Rainbow Falls. A lovely run through the bush - 8kms there-and-back. Such a beautiful part of the country!

This trail is about st 5km (3 miles) round trip. It is nice and shaded on a hot day and at the end is a beautiful waterfall you can cool off in. I have always felt safe running this trail alone but probably wouldn't recommend it at night.

We enjoyed seeing these falls from 3 viewing places. Well worth the walk down the hill past the cliff face to the pool level. Some people were swimming here. You can walk under the falls as well if you a nimble footed.

The falls are worth a visit, but please be aware not very disable or pram friendly. The gravel track would be difficult for the not so able bodied or small child. The wild chickens and rooster were a treat to see.

I would highly recommend visiting Rainbow Falls. We only did the short walks, there are 3 different viewing areas on different levels, which give different viewing aspects of the waterfall. There is the option to go on a longer walk but we didn't have time to do that. We would recommend visiting as we loved it :-)
