If you are going for a wine-tasting.. please make a booking to avoid disappointment as the place is almost always full. We took a nice stroll around the vineyard & then had quite simply the BEST LUNCH PLATTER EVER.. Hats off to the chef.. The variety, the flavours & the presentation was simply outstanding. Poppy is passionate about her wines... More

Went on the basis of other Trip Advisor reviews and didn't disappoint. We didn't have a booking (NOT recommended) but they managed to accommodate us anyway and even get us an outside table when someone else's booking changed. Very informative & passionate wine tasting experience with Poppy herself who clearly loves what she does. Some great wines. Lunch itself, the... More

I don't think the wines will set the world on fire to be honest, but the tasting plates were very good and plenty of food for 2 at $40. $2.00 for a bread roll or crackers ? Why? The tasting while you have the platter is a good idea, but I don't know why it can't be done at the... More

Highly suggest trying the late harvest pinor gris, didn't really have a taste for white wine until now.

I love this place. Poppy makes this place unique and without her it wouldn't be the same. Poppy is the wine maker and every weekend delights her customers by personally explaining the wines being tasted. She is enthusiastic ++ and knowledgeable and a delight to have a conversation with. Her wines are amazing and this year they are better than... More

Dropped in for a quick lunch. The share plates were fantastic. The staff are incredibly friendly, and accommodated both our kids and vegetarians without any trouble. There is only really share plates, plunger coffee, obviously wines, small selection of beers. Small range but great quality. If you are fussy I wouldnt do lunch.

Poppies proudly makes its own wine and sells it only at the cellar door. The food they sell at the cellar door is designed to showcase the winery's produce. This goal leads to a compact menu of a tasting platter designed to showcase and extra bread to go with it. If you're looking for a choice in food, you'll find... More

Dropped by this place as we saw it was highly recommended on TripAdvisor. Really great wine, and interesting take on the late harvest pinor grigio and of course, good pinor noir. My two other friends and I bought a number of bottles before leaving. Heard from the lady (couldn't remember her name) that they are experimenting with blends. Price a... More

We had a misunderstanding with our booking and instead of seating for 15 they only had a table for 8 inside. It was a cold, miserable day so they set up a table out the back under cover to accommodate us. Freezing cold because of no sun so they made sure we all had blankets. The late harvest pinot gris... I only stopped at one winery while in Martinborough and I am glad it was Poppies. I tasted a gorgeous array of wines and left with a bottle of their lovely Riesling. Staff were friendly and attentive. The venue was busy and by the look of the food coming out of the kitchen, you could see why it's rated so... More
