I was disappointed that there were not many stromatolites and a lot were breaking up. The boardwalk to go out to them was great and well maintained. The dirt road in of the main Highway is good but we found a lot of kangaroos came...More

Just s couple ok km outside Cervantes this short boardwalk stroll around the lake is very interesting. Informative signs tell the story of these ancient life forms.

There isn't much to see here except some stromatolites, which, for many people, might be something different worth seeing. If in the area, a quick stop is recommended.

This is a very intersting lake as the level rises and falls with the sea tides, however it is much saltier than the sea. There are stromatolites in it as well as fish (pre-salted!)

On our way back from Jurien Bay, we stopped over for a few minutes on this lake, peaceful and quite and apparently home to some of the earliest forms of life on earth, it is a beautiful lake.

The lake itself looks ordinary but it is what lives in it that is special. Looking like little scrunched coral but been there for millions of years.

Interesting place to visit if you do have the time you can go on several walks one goes right around the Lake and picnic tables to enjoy your snack or packed lunch.

Sunrise at the lake is beautiful. I went to the lake twice. Once at sunrise and another at sunset. Sunset at the lake is quite chilly. I spotted a group of wild kangaroos hopping in a distance. What a beautiful sight.

Hi Tracy M. It is about 2 o3 klms along the dirt road, although it is pretty compact to drive on. You reach the car park and then walk out on the boardwalk which is about 500 metres to the stromalites in the lake. Watch for... More
