The rock formations in Nambung National Park remind me of a miniature Cappadocia - an other worldly landscape - but of course these rock formations are much to small to be inhabited like the rocks formations in Cappadocia. Nice for photography if the light is good. It's a long drive from Perth - 5 to 6 hours round trip -... More

We travelled here from Perth at the suggestion from my son..It is a fairly long 2.5 hour drive on relatively dull long highways .The drive is definetly worth it though as this national park is wonderful and very unusual. The desert landscapes and bright golden sand and limestone pinnacles make for a breathtaking view. The park is 12.00 per carload, and... More

The moving dunes are pretty impressive, as a result if you visit now, you will see different scenery in a few years time. Went in early April so not many flowers available to view, but there were some gorgeous yellow banksia in bloom all along the roadside. You can also visit The pinnacles which are situated within the park boundaries.

The Pinnacles were definitely worth visiting, they are a most unusual formation of rocks over a 4km drive

Nambung National Park is a fantastic, otherworldly experience! There is plenty to occupy your time here: the Desert Discovery Center (Visitor Center) is very well done; the 4km desert drive is fun and the 1.2km desert walk is a surreal experience! The geology here is very unique and definitely not to be missed!

If you are in the mood for a drive then 3 hours north of Perth is a place we'll worth the drive but if you would rather sit back and let someone else do the driving then you can jump on one of the many tour groups heading to the amazing world of petrified trees they call the Pinnacles near... I live in Perth, but spend a lot of my life overseas. When I am back here I always take overseas visitors to this amazing limestone formations. Really worth the drive and being in the countryside is a bonus.

I visited the Nambung National Park today and the Pinnacles. The park is nice, however I wouldn't drive out of my way to see it, if I wasn't already in the area. Why? There are plenty of national parks and the like all over Australia, and this one doesn't stand out as a must see item. They're all equally nice... More

Was really worthwhile to do the trip from Perth. The landscape is unique and so it offers great opportunities to shoot nice pictures. The visitor center is ok'ish. It's worthwhile to combine it with a few other sights to fill the day.
