I Was trying to take a photo of the mountains when a member told me I wasn’t allowed my phone on the balcony/outdoor area (which I was fine with). Then this same staff member proceeded right in front of me to take photo of a guest swimming in the pool and on the balcony and both of them were using a phone In the area I was just told I couldn’t. I just found this quite frustrating and rude. My partner and I were paying over 200 franc to be there just to swim in a pool and I can’t even take a photo of the view ? Stupid.

Please ignore some of the negative reviews, this is a lovely Spa to enjoy a day to relax.
We planned for the day brought our own towels, costume, sarong (instead of bathrobe) and flip-flops to walk around in. If you don't bring your own, expect to pay to rent not forgetting the deposits. Some people pick up others white robes.
Large swimming pool, with several sections jacuzzi from pool lounges, seats, bars to hold ot general relax. Pool warm, including swim outside pool which overlooks the mountain side over the lake, including some building either side.
The sauna, steam room downstairs spaceous and a quite area. Lounge with spaceous cushion seats, you find free cold water, lemon water, lime water or warm. Hibiscus tea.
Theres a bar for alcohol drinks, soft drinks and hot drinks at additional costs with snacks including crisps, nuts etc. We took some snacks of our own, including light lunch which we were allowed to eat on site.
Value for your money, we enjoyed a full. Relaxing day, all staff really friendly and helpful.

No slippers, bathrobe, tower, shower gel or shampoo. You have to carry them all or pay additionnal tax. Only one sauna, even if they seem to have two on the website. This location is in the Alps, at 1300m. You would expect awesome views ar least. But you don't get them. From the lounge areas you see the ugly building in front and three planted trees that just look out of place . I don't understand why those huge windows. From the indoor pool you see a stone fence instead of any landscape. You can barely see some mountain landscape from the outdoor poor. The view from the upper terrace is so much better. One of the worst spa we have ever been to. Bad architect. So much more could have been done with such a nice area around

We were really excited about this place. The outdoor pool is definitely a highlight. The indoor pool areas are just okay. The sauna and steam rooms and other relaxation areas were nice but guests are supposed to be quiet and they were not and the staff was not enforcing that. The scenery is beautiful. The facilities are clean and nice. It was a little more crowded than I would’ve preferred when we were there. We were hoping to get spa treatments but they said the whole day was booked they didn’t have availability for anything. Also if you want anything to drink or eat you have to sit in the small crowded lobby.

The large granite building extends from the outside to the inside and therefore it comes across as very cold, colorless and unfriendly. The furnishings are all gray or beige and that doesn't help either. The bistro doesn't really deserve its name because it was probably just the reception lounge before and now it has 3 tables and serves sandwiches and quiches, very spartan in its selection and not very wellness-like. No amenities in the showers. All in all, the whole atmosphere, including the service, comes across as very monotonous and not very 2024 lifestyle-like. I think with a bit of creativity and willpower it could be freshened up relatively cheaply and quickly but in the meantime we won't be returning.

The pool did not meet our expectations. The sauna/nude area was too small and there was only one sauna. The range of refreshments available in the sauna is modest.
Bath towels for the sauna must be obtained from reception and cost CHF 6.00 per small towel. In other places, these are provided free of charge in the sauna area.
The financial outlay for this pool (parking, cable car and entry) is not worth it.

Great facility, offering massages a mineral pool looking down on a lake in the valley and the swiss alps.
The massage staff were great and were very competent. The sauna was clean although a bit too bright for our liking.
In the lounge there were several options for drinks, unlucky no nibbles or fruit, it would have been appreciated.
Some staff had problems communicating in German.
Altogether a wonderful facility.

we were delighted. Very spacious complex with wet areas (sauna, steam bath, crystal bath), massage options and of course the pool with lots of bubble jets. The outdoor area is also wonderful.
Atmosphere: super pleasant
Price/performance: included in the hotel price
To recommend: definitely

Been travelling around Switzerland for a couple of weeks and needed a chill out day. This was absolutely it. Amazing. Clean. Well set out. Loved the big jets and lived the outdoor pool gazing out at mountains. Totally recommend a visit. Bit on expensive side but so clean and well organised I couldn’t fault this place.

Hi. Are the baths cold, given that they are called Kaltbad? Or is it like other spas, with warm, minerlized water bubbling up to the surface.

We're planning to go to Mt Rigi in October. We're also thinking of visiting the spa, how crowded is it during that time period (October-November)?
Thank you!

How do I travel to Mineralbad spa. I will be driving down from Munich on the 25th December. They are still open. Where should I park the car and travel to the Mineralbad? And be back down after the spa close.
Written 9 July 2019
We stayed in Weggis at the base of Mount Rigi and walked about 5 minutes to the tram. It took us right to the spa. There is lots of parking available.

Is there a train I can take from the old town of Zurich to the Mineralbad & Spa Rigi-Kaltbad? I only have 7 hours to spare, from 1:00pm to 7pm rtn to the old town. Will this work out for me?
Need to meet friend for dinner at 7:45pm in the old town.
Thank you very much in advance for helping me with the question.

Maybe someone can answer in more detail, but I dont think thats enough time... Assuming that every connection is perfect, and your coming from the Luzern side, you'll first have to make your way with a transfer in Olten, get on a boat in Luzern, get on the rack rail in Vitznau and get off at Kaltbad, and thats only one way not accounting for actually enjoying the waters ;) I recommend going on a day where you can afford the time to make your way down and enjoy yourself, or maybe there's a faster way coming from the top side of Rigi via Canton Schwyz, though the former is more enjoyable I'd say try the thermalbad in Zurich or Zurzach if you want to give it a try!

Grazie in anticipo a chi mi risponderà

Ciao grazie

If we stay in Lucerne, is it possible to wake up early, hike some part of Mt Rigi, and then go to the mineral springs after hike? Then back to Lucerne for hotel at night. Also what is the difference between the public Mineral Baths and the 16+ Spa?
Written 12 February 2018
Hi it's possible to visit Mineralbad &Spa at Rigi Kaltbad in one day. If you come from Lucerne you can go to Weggis by ferry and then take the cable way to Kaltbad. Otherwise there's a very nice train from Vitznau to Kaltbad. For more information about the wellness center it's better to visit the web site...the mineral baths (indoor and outdoor pools) is open to everybody, the sauna area is 16+ and it's nude zone. For more information see also spa-advisor.blogspot. Enjoy it!

Hi. I would to know how to travel from Zurich to Rigi Kaltbald hotel?
Meanwhile should I go on weekday in case I prefer less people?
Written 3 December 2017
Hi, you can take the train from Zurich to Lucerne, from there with the boat to Vitznau and from there with the cable car to kaltbad. I think it doesn't matter which day you chose, there are always a lot of tourists on that route.
If you want less people and better spa experience you should chose another location. There are great places close to Zurich like Baden or Bad Zurzach.
Happy travels!

How easy is it to go here from Lucerne with a big trolley of 23 KG with the bahnofquai, cable car etc? is it better to visit this spa as a day trip from Lucerne or to take your luggage and stay here overnight ? is it easy to visit Mt. Rigi from here ?
Written 31 August 2017
It can be a day trip if you only go for spa. If you'd like to go to Rigi, stay overnight. Cable car should be ok for the luggage. And from Lucerne you can also come by boat as alternative.
