We stayed for one night in beautiful Braunwald. As the resort is relatively low, it was late in the season and the weather was beautiful, the snow wasn't great and quite slushy. It's also good for non skiers with beautiful snow shoe trails and winterwanderwegs. There are some unusual transport options. For example, one lift is a mix of cable... More

no car in the village, the place is quite flat for beginner (lower part). we like sliding on the village street. You have to stay moire than one day to enjoy this place.

Great views, not so great slopes. Either for families with small children or for grannies. Nice for a day or two.

The skiing area is definitely very good. Perfect if you go their with children. Walking from the hotels to the middle station of the skiing area is relaxing experience when you enjoy the quietness.

Braunwald is a charming little ski area very close to Zürich and easily reachable by trail or car. By car 1 hour 20 minutes from Zürich. Park in the valley and take the gondola/funicular up to the village where only horse and carriage or the occasional electro-car roam the streets. Nice place for kids to learn skiing. Ski school offers... More

If you don't care about the buzz of the famous resorts places, where architectural disgrace has taken over to manage demand, this little car-free town about 1hr from Zurich is the ideal place. Sufficient infrastrcture to have fun, a couple of good restaurants and very friendly people all over. I love it!

Love skiing here. Plenty of off piste an beautiful scenery. It's also very quiet. On the downside lifts are slow and runs are short. However, there's never a queue so it's not a problem. Canton Glarus is very nice and well worth a visit.

Piste is regularly prepared throughout the day. There are not a lot of pistes, but they are technically challenging. This means it you will not loose your group and you will not get lost easily. There is good food to be had at almost evry restaurant. Even the pizza stand at Grotzenbuel makes terrific food. Due to the crisis all... More
