Busy market, worth getting to early, i.e. before too hot if going in July/ August, unless you want to pick up one of the excellent spit roast chickens. Worth having a wander around the backstreets and chilling in a cafe with Tinto Verrano

The market is in the square, which is small but contains plenty of stalls with a range of merchandise. Decent stuff but not the original name brands. Some stalls you can barter but just watch 1st before doing it as some of the sellers can be offended. Easy access by the local bus which runs every 20 mins, just stay on the bus once you reach Mojacar Peublo and it goes round up the hill and right to the market. Saves an uphill walk

This isn't as good as many other 'rastros' (or flea markets) in Spain. We found it more expensive than other flea markets we've been to - probably because many of their customers are tourists. It is also a lot smaller and, on the day we went, we didn't find anything that we wanted to buy. Some sellers have articles that are made in China and are pricing them as if they were second-hand vintage items.

Managed to get a parking space a little way down the hill in a gravel car park. Steep walk back up and then steps up to the market. About 10-14 stalks here but very samey stuff on several of the stalls I.e handbags and purses and other stalls were cheap clothing tracksuit type stuff. Been. Don’t need to go again. Needs more of a mix of stalls.

I hope that it was just because we visited at the end of October that the market was so poor. Loads of fake leather goods and trainers and not much else.
