The visit to the monastery however was very expensive at 300 – they don’t accept foreign student cards. Frustrating dual pricing, you pay more but you get less since the only thing they translated in English are all the ‘do not …’ signs, but none...More

This is large in land size with a number of buildings to explore. In a number of places, there is no English signage which was discouraging. It is worth a visit to experience its history and expanse and variety of architecture. The museums here were...More

Many interesting small museums inside this complex, but unfortunately very little English signage. I spent a couple of hours here. There is a nice bell concert every hour on the hour. I also have to mention the surprisingly wonderful cafe, which is located directly to...More

Don't get me wrong, Suzdal is a great place. But this was billed as the biggest attraction there and it fell a bit flat for me. The ticket came with no info - there was a map inside that showed entrances to various building many...More

The monastery is beautifully peaceful and the church beautiful inside. If dodgy stairs don't bother you go up the bell tower. There is a 100 ruble fee but the money is going to a good cause and the views are worth the climb.

We started a walking tour of Suzdal by firstly visiting this Monastery close to our lodgings. We met our Guide - Elena, who took us through the Monastery grounds which dates, in this form, to the 16th Century, lovely old walls which make it look...More

One of the most beautiful historic sights of Suzdal. Full of artefacts, old monuments and current expositions. I was taken aback by a picturesque exhibition of Old books held in the monastery. I highly recommend to visit it. And do not forget to go around...More

Very much the star of Suzdal, this Complex was great. The church was beautiful, the museums interesting and the grounds and walls impressive. It was built in unsettled times and you can see the defensive capabilities as you walk around. Plenty of English signage and...More
