    Good casa
It was our first visit for a port tasting. Perhaps by chance we chose a good casa. We got 5 samples each and shared them. Beautiful setting on the first floor overlooking the river and the old town. The samples were excellent and we enjoyed it. Friendly and educated service.

    Quiet please…
We had a delicious premium tasting with one of the ports from 1967. Too bad for 2 table of very loud Americans….I think they should put a sign… please speak quietly…. Just spoiled the atmosphere of relaxing port tasting.

    Very Good Tasting
My wife and I each had a different tasting here. Both were very good and the server did a good job of explaining them. They offer 7-8 different tastings at various price points. They were full when we arrived so we left and walked in to Calem next door. It looked very corporate-like so we returned to Kopke. They told us that it might be a 30-minutes for a table but we decided to wait. We got a table in 15 minutes and were glad we waited. Note that they don’t take reservations and do not have a wait list. Highly recommended.

    A perfect port tasting experience!
We had the best afternoon porto tasting here! There are of course so many port tasting options on this side of the river and I am so glad we picked this one! It was very little fuss with us just being able to walk in and pick the tasting that sounded best for us - we opted for 2 table wines and 3 ports it came with chocolate and a great explanation from a lady who worked there - all for €26! The view in the tasting room is something else and it is a lovely environment to taste some great port! Highly recommend!!

    THE spot to taste Colheitas!
We had a very nice tasting experience at Kopke. It is a smaller, more personal space, with a very helpful staff. We came here to taste colheitas, a type of port which Kopke is known for and one which is not well known in the USA. Tastings are on a first come, first serve basis; no reservations are taken. We were lucky not to have to wait. Chocolates are served with the port tastings. Four of us tried two different tasting packs; one included a variety of ports, and the other just tawny colheitas. Afterwards, we tried two white colheitas, which are quite unusual. We ended up purchasing bottles of their 2003 White Colheita and having it shipped. Note: having had tours and tastings at Graham's and Taylor's, we did not need another tour, so being able to have the tasting alone at Kopke's was perfect for us. Highly recommend!

this was an excellent way to taste port. the shop is downstairs but the tasting room is upstair with a wonderful of Porto. You had different tasting options but went with the one recommended to us. there were five glasses and different types of chocolate to eat with each glass of port. eating chocolate with port is an eye opener as the port tastes even better. would recommend this experience

Perfect wine and port tasting experience in a lovely upstairs room overlooking the river. We had a personal service and talk about the wines before being left to enjoy at our leisure, nice if you don’t want to be in a crowd of people.

We just visited Kopke for a quick tasting however the staff were great, really knowledgeable and took plenty of time to tell us about the Port. The view over the river was beautiful and of course the port we tasted was fabulous!

We chose Kopke because we could do a tasting without a tour and it was a more personalized experience. We purposely chose a late morning to visit to avoid the crowds and to have our palates fresher for the tasting.

After we choose a flight of port, we were ushered upstairs. It felt like an exclusive club, quiet with leather chairs and tables scattered about. Kristina brought over our flight and thoroughly explained each variety’s taste profiles and how it was to be served. We were also provided with water and chocolates to enhance the tasting.

Our tasting included 2 whites and 3 reds. My husband is more of a port drinker than I am, but I was very impressed with the quality of Kopkes port. Back in the USA we have never seen a white port and were eager to try it.

After about an hour of tasting and chatting with a couple seated next to us, we wanted a try an aged white port. Unfortunately, they close between 1-2pm and it was time to leave. We ended up leaving and coming back after lunch.

Kristina greeted us at the door and gave us a tasting (gratis!) of an aged white port, colheita 2003 bottled in 2022. It was outstanding and bought a bottle on the spot.
