Visited on what possibly is the busiest day of thier year during the 'San Joao' festival. A bit of a queue and it was all rather rushed, impersonal and noisy. That covers the poor aspects of the visit. Otherwsie fascinating and will possibly go again if we are back in Porto, but will choose a quieter time! Good value, for... More

Good visit to one of the original cellars of Porto. You must book to visit the cellars. We booked direct at the desk rather than through a tour bureau. We had to wait for the next English language tour which was about 40 minutes, but book in advance is recommended. Good guides telling the history of Sandemans and a tour... More

Choosing a Porto House is not easy - there are so many ! So why not go visit the best one ... in marketing. Sandeman has undoubtedly the best marketing, and their port wines are also the best. After a very educational private tour with my daughter Tine and I we had the pleasure to taste an very interesting mix... More

All lovers of Porto know Don Sandeman Don , this black figure with a cape and a hat worthy of Zorro !! Having already visited a other winery I was interested to visit Sandeman but when i saw the long file waiting, I decided to sit on the terrace and taste a cocktail proposed ..Frankly no regrets, the cocktails are... The tour of 6 euros takes about 35-40 minutes (apart from the portwine tasting). You'll receive a lot of information about the Sandeman history and how they create port wine. This tour includes: a guided tour in the cellars, a 12-minute movie about how port wine is made and where it comes from and 2 samples of Sandeman portwine. One... More

We really enjoyed this winery tour and learning about port wines. The cellars were immaculate and I found the tour very interesting. Afterwards we tasted a white and tawny port. Both were delicious.

The standard tour takes about 45 minutes wi two glasses of port to sample at end. Guide, Vincent, was very good, the information provided answered some of the questions we had asked ourselves and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get a bit more understanding of why Porto, why port and how it is made.

If you want your fastest story in your life - take this one. Very touristic, nothing special, no useful information if you know how does red and white wine should be paired or what is the different between red and white color than don't go there.
