What's not to love about the Douro Valley. Unless you are already having a love affair with Fonseca Port wine, skip this fake tour. What you will pay 10 Euros per person for is an audio guide that gives basic information about the vineyard and...More

We sought this quinta on the recommendation of our hotel and Rick Steves. The 10 euros for the tour included use of the English-speaking audioguide and three port tastings. We found the audioguide to provide the right amount of information without getting too technical. The...More

Red some reviews and even looks this place up in Rick Steves. Just seemed like it is a very poorly run Quinta. We began our drive up the narrow, barely paved road - at about 2/3's up the road we are completely blocked by a...More

This winery produces the Fonseca brand of port. We loved being given some audiophones (with narrative in English, among others), and sent on our way alone to walk at our pace though their picturesque vineyards. The views were beautiful. Afterwards we were given three samples...More

Panascal offers a self-guided tour of their Quinta using an MP3 device. I enjoyed doing this (despite the rather dry English commentary) and the price of €10 includes tasting of three ports.

Did a port tasting as they had white port. Views were incredible and great stop while in the Douro region, You can drive your car all way to top and do not have to park down below and walk up.

We tasted 6 types. Mixed feelings. On the one hand had a fantastic vintage from 2012, on the other hand, the white and Obvious ports were mediocre. Ended up buying the 2000 vintage.

One of the best in the area. Highly recommended and worth the drive. The setting is stunning and the ports are among the best!

The steep vineyards on the right bank of the Tavora, which flows into the Douro is a sight you'll never forget. The vineyards were established in the early 19th century and continue to deliver beautiful, dense, velvety and powerful wines. We were fortunate to visit...More
