This is the main growing region for Portugal’s port wine production. Lovely cliff side terrace farms of grape vineyards can be seen by boat floating down the Douro. Awesome sight and winery tour experience.

A lovely region along the Douro River for exploring by walking, cycling, or driving and lots of wine, Port and olive oil tasting opportunities.

We cruised the Douro and were able to appreciate the beauty together with the economic importance of the river and the agriculture that surrounds it.

We loved spending a couple of days in the Douro valley. Stunning views and beautiful tranquil place to spend a few days from the hustle and bustle of Porto.

We spent three days in the Douro Valley. It's one of our highlights of world travel. So serene, the river cruises by; the vines hang from the cliffs; the people are so relaxed and friendly and there is loads of accommodation and places to eat.
