About
Vilamoura Marina was the pioneer in Portugal and today it is still what it always was: the largest Marina in Portugal, voted the best, time after time, by the Publituris Portugal Trade Awards. These awards have only been possible because “our” Marina kept growing and developing, keeping step with the changing needs of clients and adapting in order to be able to respond to the growing demands of its users. Additionally, at Vilamoura Marina, we have made a firm commitment to offer the highest standards of service and hospitality. The supply of clear and useful information is an important part of that service. We would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone, to wish everyone an excellent stay, and we trust that the winds will continue to blow in our favour.

    Little piece of paradise
Great atmosphere with plenty of choices for food & entertainment. Being vegetarian & vegan we usually struggle to find somewhere to eat (that isn’t pasta or salad), we were very surprised to find nearly every restaurant had something to offer us. There are shops, karaoke bars, sports pubs & arcades so families wouldn’t find struggle to keep the kids entertained! The harbour is a beautiful place to be at sunset & didn’t feel over crowded

    Worth a trip!
Have been coming to the Algarve for many years and a trip to Vilamoura Marina is always on our list. It hasn't changed too much over the years, but has lovely bars and restaurants for breakfasts, pastries, drinks, lunches and dinners. Even plenty of places for ice creams and waffles/crepes. There is an array of shops too for clothes and amenities; Parfois, Roxy, Carvela, toy shop and a fun stationery shop too. Worth a trip!

Agree with other reviews now we ve been. You get the feel that once over this was a really nice place to visit but its a conflicting experience. Some nice Restaurants with really good service, nice views, nice beach (weather hit and miss in October) but scattered with far to many Irish bars and Massage parlours. In October it is taken over by large groups of golfers, in fact groups of anything else is few and far between - four nights was enough for us - don’t regret it but wouldn’t revisit

This is a very large marina, so large in fact that it has its own small ferry boat service round it. Most of the restaurants and bars however are on the north and east sides, which is quite a walk when coming from the beach.
On a bright sunny lunchtime it’s a nice walk around the waters edge, taking in the bars restaurants and shops. But whilst doing so you cannot help but pick up on the contradictions this Marina gives off. On one hand it has all the airs and graces of a posh expensive marina. There is certainty a lot of money in the yacht’s moored there, upmarket clothes brands in the shops and restaurants where a yacht type expense account would make it comfortable to eat there. But then you begin to notice the plethora of party bars, well in fact you can’t help noticing them as there are so many and some are huge (The Brewery, I’m talking about you). A lot are Irish themed, in the usual plastic theme bar tradition, so as well as The Brewery, welcome to Murphy’s, O’Neils, The Irish Bar and the Hole in One Sports Bar. And then, when you start exploring a few streets back into the town, there is even more of them. And eventually you get to thinking, why does a respectable looking marina have as many party bars as the strip at Magaluf?
Then you pick up on the signs, primarily those advertising happy hour during 7 pm to 9 pm. And as the purpose of a happy hour is the pull people in when the places are traditionally more quiet, that would indicate that life starts here post 9.00pm. And there you have it, welcome to the stag and hen party centre that is Vilamoura.
So during the day the marina is very much Doctor Jeckyll, suited and booted and generally respectable. But when it gets dark, we’ll you’ve all read the book or seen the film to know what happens next.
I enjoyed strolling around it of a lunchtime and early afternoon but my days of sharing my post dinner cocktails with bunches of shots guzzling, coked up British youth are long gone, so you will find me in the evening in the quieter bars of Olhos d’Agua.
Five stars for its lunchtime ambiance, one star for what it turns into when it gets dark.

Certainly not what we expected! Not terrible in the day but in the evening it’s like club 18-30’s and not too dissimilar to Benidorm. We have renamed it Benimoura 😂 As well as loads of drunken morons the area of Vilamoura just looks and feels unkept. Very disappointed and won’t be returning. On a positive note, we visited Lagos for a day. Absolutely stunning place which is 100% where will be booking our next trip to Portugal! Also on a side note, if it’s golf you are after, I’ve played Dom Pedro Victoria during my stay and it’s world class and well worth the expense!
