This is a local shop that cures meats, and sells locally produced breads/cheeses etc. They have a wine tasting system where you load up a card (think debit card) and then use it at each of the wine dispensing machines located throughout the facility. The machines clearly display the cost (in Euros) per vend. There is both indoor and outdoor... More

We stopped thanks to an amazing tour guide who recommended this place. I was thinking how great can a butcher shop be? It was freaking amazing! It was large and mesmerizing to watch the butchers at work. Don't drive by Greve!

If you ever find yourself in Greve, in the town square, look for the stuffed wild boar and century old butcher tables. Once you have found them, enter a maze of meats and cheeses that would appeal to the most discerning of tastes. The smells and visual feast will leave you reeling. A must see!!!!

If you visit Greve in Chianti then make sure you find this place in the piazza. . This place is fasciniating with prosciutto hanging from the ceiling and salami and cheeses everywhere. Take your time to amble around the butcher shop and see it all. A real experience!
