Like Pompeii, this huge sprawling villa complex buried by a natural disaster (floods) was preserved from the ravages of marauding scavengers over the centuries. It is the best quality and quantity of Roman era mosaics I have ever seen. Excellent documentation in English and Italian...More

The title pretty much says it, but our tour was certainly improved by having a personal (licensed) guide for the two of us; you will spend 1.5 to 2 hours here marvelling at the quality and quantity of the mosaics preserved by unique destructive events....More

The Villa Romana del Casale will show you one of the biggest and best floor mosaics you will be able to find. You should count with many tourists walking the narrow walkways and you will have to spend at least 2 hours to see everything.
