this is a great place to see and learn about local flora, fauna, and ecology. There are activities and displays for toddlers to adult, with special play and hands on things for all. check their calendar for special events. there is also a small planetarium

Alex is incorrect. It’s $20 a person, 0-2 is free, 3 and up is $13. If you are military, have triple A or are 65+, you can get a $1 off admission.

I would definitely go during the summer. I would suggest that it might be less crowded in the morning and on a week day.
