We loved it. My 6 year old daughter loved everything. If you have young kids, be sure to go to the vet office display - they get to play ver on fake animals and they have these really cool microscope setups where they can take really close pictures of stuff and it displays on the computer screen. Admittedly, there may... More

We were here as part of a group and saw much of what they had to offer. Loved the animals and appreciated the space they had; they're all here because they can't survive in the wild and are treated very well from what I could see.

Went to VLM on 12/4. It was a little chilly, but my 6 mo old enjoyed the fish/aquarium displays and the outdoor dinosaur exhibits. The museum is such a good value and the exhibits are wonderfully done.

This is a great place to view the plants and wildlife that make up Virginia. We visited on a cool day (45 degrees) and early in the day and the animals were very active and playful. It was wonderful to see the otters and wolves interacting and playing with each other. What a great find!

My child is still too young to really enjoy this museum, but I heartily enjoyed the educational factor of the exhibits. I would have liked to spend some time in the native plants/herbs area, and had more, too, to explore the outdoor trail exhibits. The water animals and cave dwellers were some of my favorites. I loved the area where... More

We love this place! Take a respite from the rich history of Williamsburg and visit the Virginia Living Museum in Newport News. The museum is well-planned and full of great exhibits of all the biomes represented in the great state of Virginia--from the coastline to the piedmont to the mountains and everywhere in between. Organisms are readily identifiable and easily... More

I didn't know what we going to see upon arriving but we not dissapointed. The place was clean, easy to navigate and kept our interest the entire time there...We didn't know that some of those animals lived in Virginia....a real treat!

We went to the museum today with our son's family. The children, ages 10, 6 and 3 loved it. The whole museum was very clean and well maintained. We did the outdoor boardwalk first. We saw many active animals in the habitats.......fox, deer, turkeys, wolves, beavers and many more. The children also enjoyed the new dinosaur section. The indoor exhibits... More

This is a unique opportunity to interact with the flora and fauna of Virginia! Experience hands-on time with animals, fish, and the gardens of Virginia and play your way through the new dinosaur exhibit! And the planetarium is fascinating! This is a venue for all ages!

My 11 year old had a great time. Entry price was steep for the offerings I thought. Animals in the zoo part seemed sad or sedated and the plastic dinosaurs were a bit out of place in a "living" museum, but my son loved it. There were some cool exhibits, aquariums and other displays of native life in Virginia. All... More
