At 40 minutes from Chartres this chapel is ideal to include in a day trip. It is very nice, from far, because we had not the possibility to visit. Between octomber untill the end of march is open only for large groups. So you can see only the things that we saw ( see photos)

I wanted to see the inside so bad but they are not open even on Saturdays:( Very disappointed. I wish everyone would post open/close dates/hours on their Tripadvisor sites!

We're sorry of this disapointement , effectly the chapel is closed between october and march . Only groups of 20 people and more can visit on booking in advance . Now the opening times appeare on tripadvisor . We hope to see you again during a visit. Have a nice day. More

Dreux is a smallish town West of Paris with some interesting old half timbered buildings and churches but without doubt the jewel in the crown is the Chapelle Royale , perched above the town it looks impressive from the outside and when you have climbed up to it the views down over the town is great .
