Great tour here by one of the founders. He walked us through the equipment that had been used to make beer for over 100 years in some instances. Much more personal and hands on than some of the other brewery tours we went on in Belgium. Enjoyed some beers post-tour at their bar and outside patio.

I went a little out of my way to visit the De Dolle Brouwers tap room as they make quality beer and are only open on Sunday afternoon's. (2-7pm) It was a busy, colourful & lively place. The beers are excellent, but are mostly dark and on the strong side, 8% and above. They have a table set up in... More

After our previous visit about 8 yrs ago we would have recommended the tour and tasting session to everyone. It was fun, educational and fantastical entertainment by the mother of the 2 owners (brothers). Unfortunately, this lady passed away not too long ago. Now, the visits are guided by one of the suns/owners, assisted by his wife in the cantine.... More

A very nice little brewery. Friendly people, fancy building and rooms. Excellent beer in different stiles. A old machinery, a real craft beer brewer. The old cellar with beer stored from 1998 on - very impressive. Don't miss that place!!

We hoped to make the tour in English at 2pm on Sunday, but missed it due to the many traffic diversions on our way. The staff are friendly and they had 2 beers on tap, both at 2.5 € each. They sell bottled beer and a pate containing some beer, we have not tried that yet. The beers are strong... More

This is a cool brewery. When rocked up the guy in wellies cleaning was the unassuming owner! He turned out to also be an artist and his place is decorated with his vibrant canvases. The beer was great as was the tour and he was very enjoyable to listen to speaking great English. A great little brewery. You do have... More

Dolle Brouwers... the 'crazy' or 'mad' brewers. Most non-Belgians who find themselves in this part of the country are probably visiting the war graves, memorials and museums of Ypres (Ieper), a 30 or so minute drive away. If you have a Sunday afternoon to spare and are a bit 'cemetery-ed' out, head here. Dolle Brouwers is in Esen, almost a... More

My wife and I had the great luck to visit the De Dolle Brouwery last Sunday while touring Belgium. The experience was without doubt the highlight of the trip. We have long been fans of the "Mad Brewer's" exceptional hand crafter beers and it was a real joy to be guided around this tiny, artisinal brewery by the brewer himself... More

The brewery is one of the very few left which follows a completely artisanal produce. The tour is lively and educational, a beer sample is included at the end. Sunday tours are in English. Highly recommended
