I visited the Choco Museo with my wife, son and sister-in-law and we did the beans-to-bar workshop. It went from describing the cocoa tree, harvesting, roasting and chocolate making process. The museum was in a central location on Granada and was linked to a hotel in Granada. The tour itself was very fun and kid-friendly! Ours was led by Kenny,... More

Ismael is hilarious. You will not stop smiling with this extremely informative, hands-on tour. Well worth the money! Try three chocolate drinks from history (that you make) and then take home a self-made chocolate bar (we're talking full-size chocolate bar... not that little fun size)

Yes, the museum shows - and guides tell all that in a friendly but frantic way - but is primarily a commercial enterprise and shop/restaurant. Very interesting however, but the rushed atmosphere made the sampling of a dozen or so offered small shots of chocolate liquor (potent) drinks at the end of the paid tour many tourists a bit tipsy,... I'm a chocoholic, so naturally I was excited to visit. So there are a few facts posted on the walls about the origin of chocolate and how to make it. That's it. The there was a store. One could buy lots of chocolate items. Other than the brownies, nothing tasted good. Chocolate seemed stale and not well made. I bought... More

We had a fun visit to the museum during which we learned a lot about cocoa and even made our own chocolate. Ismael was a very entertaining guide and was also good at getting the kids involved. The only reason I don't give a full five points is that I think the pricing for the tour & chocolate making is... More

We did the workshop where you learn about the chocolate making process. Alejandro was our cook and he explained everything really wel, he was very enthousiastic and made it an interactive workshop. At the end we did a little quiz to see if we had paid enough attention and you can keep your own chocolate bar! It was a nice... More

What more could you want than fresh chocolate! Starting with chocolate in the shell, heating them on an open fire in a pan like a wok, peeling then squishing with mortar and pestle. We added different ingredients following the directions and ended with a dark chocolate bar..yum

The Choco Museo has so many awesome products for sale (and a 10% discount throughout the shop if you take the workshop) and free samples of the various chocolate infused liquors and choco tea, and the chocolate making workshop is so much fun...... You get to see how the cacao grows and then you make some chocolate all the way... More

If your definition of museum is a "guide" enticing you to buy $9 chocolate bars and overpriced chocolate liqueur, then yes, this is a museum.
