Went there today, was a nice hour and a half cruise through the islands of lake Nicaragua. You get to see a few monkeys far away in the trees and at the end are able to feed one that lives on an island. The trip...More

It was nice to get out of the heat out on the lake but really there's nothing special to see on this trip. Monkey island has 3 monkeys, 2 of them are afraid .Only one came on our boat to eat mangos and then left.Disappointing...More

This was one of our highlights in this trip -- The Monkeys comes right down to you and take the food right from your hand -- really cool!!!

$15 tour taken with PachaMama. Great few hours with a knowledgable guide. Worth the trip alone to hand feed monkeys and also experience an amazing sunset.

Yes, there is an allure to all the hype around making sure you include it in your visit to Granada. However, be prepared to be underwhelmed. It's basic. Even the famed monkey island isn't worth the hype. It can make for a nice day on...More

These are nice islands. Very small but support so much life. The tours are pretty standard. Just take the lowest offer. It is hard to do this badly. We had Danny's tours, who usually have standard rates, but for the islands they charged 18 USD....More

The little islands are spectacular to spend time on. If you rent a house or go to one of the good island bars it can be lovely. There are also some TERRIBLE island bars and some boat rides that make you feel ripped off. So...More

We took an amazing boat tour of the 380 plus islands of lake Nicaragua with a group tour. Usual houses and hotels along with a rehabbing spider monkey. Very cool.

You should be able to negotiate a tour of any length. The guides seem more than happy to make a little more money.

You bring US. You can change your money at the bank or exchange from street corner vendors, they're pretty much at the same rate as banks. ATM's will give out one or the other, local or US.

The guides will help you in and out of the boat but they are pretty steep. There aren't many of them though, maybe ten steps or so on each isleta. It wasn't a physical excursion at all.
