On the north western tip of Koh Chang is Chao Por Koh Chang Shrine, which embodies the guardian spirits of the Koh Chang community, and in particular its fishermen as they set out to sea.
It is so highly revered by islanders that they have an island-wide yearly procession to protect and honour the guardian spirit, who is considered the "godfather" of Koh Chang.
Local inhabitants also pay regular visits to the shrine to seek predictions of their futures.
Chao Por Koh Chang Shrine is a highly colourful place with heavy Chinese influence in both the architecture and the decoration of the various buildings in the shrine.

It was a nice, simple and beautiful tempel with just some stairs to reach from the parking. I would recommend it, but it is not something you absolutely must do.

The temple is a nice place to visit if you are out and about on your scooter. It's very serene , very colourful and great for photography. Yes it's another temple but well worth a visit.

A must stop to make merit if traveling with Thai people. It is good luck to visit this well-maintained shrine. Spend a few baht, spend a few minutes and do the right thing for your spirit.
