Main attraction of Rishikesh

Must visit place but the local body shall take the cleaning of adjoining areas on priority. I have seen this a many times that VIPs get a treatment which is highly insulting to common man when he visits for aarti

A sublime experience!
Feb 2021
The Ganga Aarti at the Parmarth Niketan was such an awe-inspiring experience. The place was not crowded and that added to the experience. We got an opportunity to perform the yajna and the aarti first-hand. Interaction with Swami ji also left a deep impression on our minds.

A spiritual journey
Feb 2021 • Family
We reached Ram jhulla at around 5 Pm in evening. The streets are filled with various temples, small local shops and roadside food vendors.

We had jhalmuri, fresh strawberry etc.

The Ganga arti starts by around 5:30 PM. Advisable to reach early if u want the best seats and view. It doea get crowded after 5:15.

The arti goes on for an hour and is done on the Ghats of ricer Ganga. Its one of most satisfying spiritual event undertaken by me with bhajans and havan etc.

One should aurely visit the major temples near by.

Great spot to see the famous Ganga aarti
Jan 2021
Was very calm and well managed, good arrangements were made to ensure a safe and secure aarti. The walk to Parmarth Niketan from Laxman Jhula was also great.

Peace & Beauty - Lord Shiva & Hanuman Ji Statue
Dec 2020
This place is near to Ran Jhula and Janaki Bridge/setu. I am sure whenever you search Rishikesh over google you find see a big statue of Lord Shiva ...that is here. Evening arti starts at 5 pm daily anyone can attend this arti. There is a big statue of Hanuman Ji also. Shiva statue looks very calm and you can feel that you are in Rishikesh. Peaceful place must spend sometime in the evening near shiv ji & ganga river.

One of the largest Ashram in Rishikesh
Nov 2020
Parmarth Niketan Ashram is situated on the east banks of holy river Ganga in the lap of the lush green Himalayas in Rishikesh. The ashram was founded in 1942 by Pujya Swami Shukdevanandji Maharaj (1901–1965). It is the largest ashram in Rishikesh with over 1000 rooms. Devotees stays here in a clean, pure and sacred atmosphere with beautiful gardens. They can take part in Yoga classes, morning prayers, meditation classes, satsang and evening Aarti. We were able to see the Clock Tower, big size Lord Hanuman & Lord Shiva Idols on Ganga banks at Aarti site. I will visit again this place to explore further.

Selfie Heaven not much meditation going on anymore
Feb 2020 • Couples
Like a pest Western and Indians flock the place with their phones held up high recording the fire ceremony. All one can see is a sea of phones, followed by TV cameras on the bridge and more people with phones. Afterwards everyone is busy doing selfies, trying to look handsome cute and sexy. Oh boy am I sad about the state of Rishikesh and the showiness & commercialism taking over this place. Please stop allowing cameras and inspire people to appreciate, meditate and honour this place. Sick!
