We had an opportunity to request the services of Expeditions India for the rafting part of our trip on our recent adventure in Rishikesh. Our guests spent 2 days on the river with the EI team, rafting all the way from Byas Ghat to Rishikesh on the Ganga. The first day was the peaceful, flatter section till Mahadev Chatti and the next day was the big action hitting grade 3+/4 rapids like Daniel's Dip, the Wall, three blind mice, roller coaster and golf course.
Anvesh Thapa and the EI team come with atleast 2 decades of experience in guiding whitewater rivers all over the world with Ganga being their homeground. The way they went about conducting the trip right from the word go, starting with friendly ice breakers and then moving on to a thorough safety briefing, drills and then the final act itself...is enough to put any sceptical mind at ease that they are with some of the safest hands on the river. The professionalism displayed, quality of equipment, eye for detail and the friendly manner in which the whole rafting trip played out was an absolute treat and was easily one of the big highlights of our trip.
Anvesh is a true leader and has an amazing ability to involve each and every participant through the river run. Negotiating each rapid under his command is not just fun but a more informed experience. You are left overjoyed and feeling accomplished after every rapid. At the end of 2 days most of our guests seem to have become half river guides themselves, speaking and understanding the river lingo with ease.
We would highly recommend Expeditions India as an exceptional whitewater rafting outfit, with passionate river guides with infectious enthusiasm for the river and the sport. We will continue to choose them for our river expeditions in the future. We wish them loads of goodluck to follow their passion, setting the bar high for others to follow without bending to market forces. Cheers!

If you have even a little bit of love for nature, enjoy being in the outdoors or are simply looking for a rejuvenating experience white water rafting is for you. But if you are looking to experience the river at a level deeper than your everyday tourist, kayaking is what you should try. Mind you it does require some perseverance, it is like learning to ride a bicycle again but every little point of progress is extremely rewarding! Ganga is the most forgiving of all rivers and the best place to learn - is what paddlers who have learnt here and also run rivers abroad say.
Learning with Anvesh sir is a treat in itself. He is a very insightful teacher, catching the precise reasons behind what mistakes you make with a lot of patience. He makes sure you are getting your fundamentals strong, and insists on building the right muscle memory and habits that would take you a long way in kayaking. The 25 years he has spent on white water come through in his method. It is not at all hard to see the passion he has for get more young people onto the rivers. AND it is a lot of fun! He is easy, candid and generous with his stories about all the myriad experiences he has had on rivers all over the world.
We are certainly doing this again!

Expeditions india is the best in the game. Immaculate planning , excellent attention to detail, cost effective , they leave no stones unturned to give us a great experience. Extremely patient and a world of experience in the rivers, I can vouch for the safety in the hands of Anvesh Thapa . Recommend this for everyone who want to try kayaking and rafting

Anvesh and his team are phenomenal. This was my first experience with any river and I land on Ganga wondering if i come back in one piece. But Anvesh and his team were so superb and amazing that I have not only carried myself back safely home but also a treasure trove of memories that has enriched me in more ways than I can mention. Anvesh is very calming, methodical and an excellent captain with great communication skills. His passion for the river sets him a class apart. He and his team together have taught and guided our team so beautifully that we were even a part of a rescue mission.😀 And Guess what, I did all this even without knowing how to swim.😆 I recommend they rename their company Expeditions India, fun Unlimited. Thanks a ton Anvesh and team for everything. I thing you guys are the best.😊👍

This is the "Trip of our Lifetime ". Thank you Anvesh and team for putting this together so beautifully. We enjoyed every second of our trip. We thought we have signed up for rafting but you have made us do trekking, cliff jumping, rock climbing. We are blown away by your hospitality and safety in every possible way. You are the best and we can't wait to have our next River trip with you. Special mention to Manish, Jammu and Rahul for giving us the delicious and nutritious food. We are glad we have chosen Expeditions India to do this trip and we highly recommend everyone.

After a few single day rafting and significant experience with sit-on-top kayaking and SUP on flatwater as well as seawater, I wanted to extend into whitewater kayaking and there is no better place than Rishikesh to do that. I didn't have to do much research before choosing Expeditions India to do a Beginner level course. I was really impressed with the rich credentials of the lead instructor mentioned on their website and it kept getting better and better right from my first email communication with their team through my three day training on the river. The theoretical lessons, the drills on water and the conversations during breaks clearly reflected the instructor's knowledge, skills, experience and passion towards kayaking, rivers and environment. Highly recommended!

I'd been on a kayaking course with Expeditions India, couple of years ago. The quality of instruction was top-notch, and the instructors, Anvesh, et al, are probably the best qualified kayak instructors in India. They've paddled on rivers around the world and the breadth of their experience is unmatched, when compared to other operators.
I highly recommend a river trip with them!

We’ve just spent 6 days kayaking with Anvesh and the team on the Ganges. As beginner kayakers, we couldn’t have asked for a more professional and knowledgeable set up to spend the week with. The whole team (Anvesh, Vik, Balam, Manol and others) were great fun, pushing us to improve our kayaking skills and enjoy ourselves at the same time. Kayaks, equipment, camping & food were all top notch! Really helpful info provided ahead of the trip too, to make sure we knew exactly what to expect.
I’d definitely recommend Expeditions India to anyone looking for a memorable river trip in India.

It was the first time, I went for river rafting. Damn !! It was fun !! I enjoyed a lot !!
Even I am a non-swimmer, but still i jumped into the water. Because i knew, i was in safe hands !! I strongly recommend this team to everybody. As they have best team members !! they have good sense of humor too. :)

Hi Megha, Thanks for reaching out to Expeditions India! As per the legal regulations of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, the minimum age for whitewater rafting is 14 years old. Out of concern for your children's safety, we uphold these rules completely. We do hope that you bring them back when they're a little older so they can have their first whitewater experience with us! Do let us know if you have any other questions. Cheers!
