We had very little time before flight back home and we were not really prepared to make any trekking. but these guys provided us with everything that we needed. And it was an wonderful experience. The places are stunning and Ankush was very kind, careful of all our needs and was always checking on us. The trekking is not so difficult till Tungnath Temple, only the last 1km was a bit challenging for us that had no experience on trekking. The landscape and the lovely breakfast provided from Ankush on a breathtaking spot worth it so very much, thou!…

I can only recommend Himalayan Travels for trekking. It's been very positive experience. Our guide Arjun has been great proffesional & actually made the trip really special. Everything was smooth, few delays on the way, however you expect that when travelling. Chopta trek has some spectacular views. If you are keen on trekking bit more distance & time, I would say 3 days is not enough as you would be actually trekking only 1 full day. Thanks to the whole team for taking care of our group & hope to see you again soon!…

The trip was well organised but I would recommend going on a five day trip if you have the time as three days is a bit short when one takes into account the long 8 hour journey to and from the destination. Our local guide in Chopta, a young man by the name of Arjun was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and resourceful. His diplomatic skills were needed as we encountered many roadworks due to the on-going major work currently going on - the road we took is the main trunk road to China and is being doubled in width with dynamite and drilling machines. Expect delays. However the scenery en route is spectacular as the road abuts the River Ganges and one follows it to its source. So relax and go with the flow! Highlights include: the peace and serenity of the mountain lake; the snow capped peaks of the Himalayas and the chance to imbibe birdsong and silence after the cacophony of Rishikesh. Go armed with bananas and nuts for energy if like me you need protein to climb mountains. (I have been a regular hiker for thirty years but in the higher altitude I would recommend taking some salt based products as we were provided with sweet biscuits which was not sufficient for me. The guides and team are excellent but in India sweet snacks seem to be the first thing offered unless you say otherwise. The staff in the office - Akash Shukla in particular were very helpful and keen to accommodate all needs m so be confident in asking for specific dietary requirements in advance. A wonderful trip and worth every penny/ rupee! Chantal Heaven .…
