Built in 1929 this iconic landmark of Rishikesh spans 450 feet across the River Ganges. It's a walkway bridge 6 foot across (carriageway), but small scooters also cross. Visited in 2012.

Enjoy the natural serenity with a flowing Ganga, cool breeze and mildly shaking bridge. Avoid if possible during rainy season. Also be careful of stray animals.

In October November badrinath doors will be closed by then. Howrah exp. runs daily from Kolkata to haridwar. You can still visit Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mussoorie and other nearby places.
