I spent three days at the Ashram on a meditation retreat. I can honestly say this was a life changing experience. Guru Ji taught me personally, taking time to give me a deep and immersive experience. He showed me some of the most beautiful places in Riahikesh, and through thoughtful and intensive mediation and yoga practice, allowed me to truly appreciate yoga and myself.

Overall I am walking away with a great experience and lessons that I will hold in my heart forever. I came here with the intention of going inward to find the light and peace. I can say that I feel that intention came true. Here are some reflections from the experience. Mediating every day at 5am with teachings from an incredible guru created a sense of discipline that I will carry with me into my life and share with others. I enjoyed all the content in the classes except for Anatomy. I am not so interested in this subject just and felt it was hard for me to use the information to better myself as a teacher and practitioner. The little field trips, Kirtans, and dance were great little additions as it brought a sense of pleasure in the journey. It was also nice that they had people onsite for massages, Ayurvedic practices, astrology readings, and scientific brain readings. Another huge bonus was the photographer who always took photos on the excursions, classes, and events so that we could be more present and shared all of them with us in the group free of charge! As for the amenities, There was no heat in our rooms when we first arrived and also in the classroom we were in so it was extremely cold. Luckily they fixed the heaters in the class room but for our personal room we were charged an additional $80 in order to have heat. Our shower only stayed hot for a minute and we were told it was because they only have so much hot water a day but once we changed room we were able to get hot water for longer.also our first room the plumbing had leaks so there was always water on the floor of the bathroom by the toilet and sink. we also were charged for toilet paper after our first two rolls. Also, the cleanliness isn’t the best. I am actually coughing and sniffling as I write this review. The food was always very good. It was very repetitive though always having the same things and switching it up a little. As far as the staff, they were all very helpful and nice and also very accommodating! Do I feel like I’m ready to go and teach Kundalini, honestly no not fully. Maybe a few things here and there but there was just so much information with few breaks and also not much room for practicing teaching in the classes. The very last week was a rush to the finish line as it felt like all the teachers were scrambling to give us an opportunity to teach or assign us a final assignment. I taught one kundalini exercise but didn’t really receive feedback from the teacher only the students. I also didn’t have the opportunity to teach in the Hatha class as we ran out of time. I did learn how to do handstand though which I was unable to do before attending this course. Also we had a lot of teacher and class changes the last week and the main space holder Guru Vishnu Ji will not be at our graduation which is upsetting as he was the glue for this experience. With all these things being said, it taught me to be more patient, to find the joy in the uncomfortableness, to be grateful for even having a place to sleep and food on my plate. I also learned so much information that will help me to become a better teacher and student. So much gratitude for Guru Vishnu Ji for creating this magical place to help spread the teachings and joy of yoga and this life. I would recommend this school for anyone who wants to broaden their knowledge of what it means to be a true yogi🙏🏼

Beautiful teachings, delicious foods, but don't expect the authentic ashram experience it's a big school. Also if you want to go in depth in one topic let's say Kundalini Yoga, it's not the place for you! You get a broad and ferm base to become a good yoga teacher. But you don't go in depth about Kundalini Yoga.

The first thing you should know about Samadhi Yoga Ashram is that it goes by several names. So if you’re like me and you spend hours or days researching and comparing different yoga schools, you may be surprised to find that they are actually all under one roof. The three that are connected are Samadhi Yoga Ashram, World Peace Yoga School, and Kundalini Yoga Ashram. So if you’re looking for a kundalini specific program, you’ll likely end up here. So whichever school you choose, you will still be in the same building studing the same curriculum with the same people who booked with other schools. I just wanted to make that clear so there’s no confusion. Whichever path you take to get here, it’s definitely worth it!
The second thing you should know is, I highly recommend you bring your cash with you to pay for the balance of your tuition when you arrive. I thought I could just come and use ATMs but I was sadly mistaken. Most of the time you can only get up to $100 US per day from an ATM. The second thing to note is that most of the ATMs run out of cash before you can even get money out. The other option is to take money out down the street at a jewelry store that was actually very legit and safe, but they do charge extra fees from 5% to 12%. If you want to pay with your card at the ashram you’ll have to pay an additional 18% on top of your balance of your tuition. This proved to be a very difficult part of the stay and I would definitely recommend making it easy for yourself and bringing your money with you. It really should not have been as hard as it was, is but it is what is it.
Now onto the fun stuff! The team here is really amazing! The teachers are first class! They’re very intelligent and I feel like I was learning from some of the top people in the industry! There were times when I felt like I was in college level classes. The team here and the teachers really cannot be compared to anything else. You will not get this type of experience doing a destination style yoga teacher training or online course. These people are teaching year-round and they know their stuff. Some of these teachers have doctorate degrees. Everybody that took the classes were very impressed and felt we got so much value for what we paid to be here. Most of us never wanted to leave!
Also living the Ashram experience, is an experience all of it’s own! It’s kind of like living in a hippie commune on a college campus. That’s the best way I can describe! You eat together, you sleep at the same time, you take your classes together, and you become very bonded with your classmates. Honestly that part of the experience was one of the best parts! Even the difficulties added to the experience. You may not have hot water all the time, electricity goes off often, and it was very cold when I was here, but I wouldn’t trade anything for the experience I had! Every hardship was worth it in the end.
This experience was very transformative for me. I came here for two months and did the 200 and 300 hour Kundalini courses and I booked with Samadhi Yoga Ashram. I would highly recommend coming here for your yoga teacher training. You’ll get more than you bargained for and you’ll come back home as a different person! You can’t beat the value for this experience! Highly recommended!

I booked a training prior to COVID, and the training was canceled, which was fine. I was willing to be flexible. I now have long-covid, but wanted to attend one of their shorter yoga retreats to heal, and also take their online teacher training from home. I was told they would not switch my deposit to another course, and that they are not offering week-long retreats right now, which is not accurate on their website. Since I am often bedridden, I cannot realistically come for an entire month (even though I would be honored to), but still wanted to have the experience. They refused to change my course, and also refused to provide me with accurate information about what courses they are currently offering, so I could see if there were any I can attend with my health issues. I'm disabled, but this shouldn't mean I don't deserve to be treated like a human being, and I'm disappointed in their lack of care. I asked to donate my deposit to someone who has a financial need to try to balance my end of things.
