This is a wonderful area to go with friends and family to camp, hike, play or picnic. There are covered shelters and bathrooms for you to use.

I've hiked both directions on the Appalachain Trail out of Massie Gap in the Park. The views are incredible, especially going South.

We camped there in August 2016 to get away from the hot weather. It is 20 degrees cooler than Winston-Salem. The campground is wonderful. The ponies are beautiful!

I recall that it was between 2 and 3 miles (one way). Beautiful hike!

Tent camping from out of state in a campground that's unfamiliar.. any advice? Are the sites user friendly ,, even if we arrive late and in the dark?
