Morven Park was once the home of Virginia governor, Westmoreland Davis, and his wife Marguerite. More than 70 years after his death, the accomplishments and ideals of Gov. Davis still resonate within the 1,000 acres of this one-of-a-kind place. Each year 150,000 people visit the Park, whether participating in its competitive equestrian events, touring its three museums, attending educational and recreational programs, or just enjoying the beauty of the woodlands, mountainous ridge, historic buildings, and formal gardens. Summer tour hours for Morven Park's three museums are Thursday, Friday,Saturday, and Monday 12p.m.-5p.m. and Sunday 12p.m-5p.m. Starting September 1st, the museums will be open to the public Saturdays and Sundays 12:00 - 5:00, with the last tour starting at 4:00 pm. The historic gardens, Turkey Hill Farm, hiking trails, equestrian center and athletic complex are open every day. Operated by the Westmoreland Davis Memorial Foundation, Morven Park is a non-profit organization, relying on individual donations, memberships, and event income to finance its public programs and preservation of its historic and natural resources.

The Morven Park mansion is particularly fascinating because it was 'modernized' by Governor and Mrs. Westmoreland Davis throughout the early 20th century. Much of what they added, especially in terms of electrified kitchen and household appliances, is still there and is fascinating. The Davises were large-scale and successful farmers in a time of agricultural transition in the country and in... More

I love house museums and decided to see Morven Park with a friend. The entire property is kept beautifully. We got there around 11:30 a.m. on a Friday and were perplexed to find a sign that stated that the house was only open for viewing on Saturday and Sunday. Luckily it was an old sign and we were invited to come... More

Morven Park's main house was a lovely trip back in time. The informative guide provided facts about the most recent owners who gave back a great deal to the community. All furnishings are from the family. There are a lot of stairs and a good amount of walking in the house and through the grounds, so be prepared. It does... More

We stopped in here as it is the venue for a family wedding this fall. The grounds are impeccable, the gardens are gorgeous. There is something for everyone here, Visit the carriage house as it is truly amazing and what a great selection. Can't wait for the wedding.

This place is an interesting historical site. The house/mansion tour is interesting. We had a wonderful and relaxing day hiking the trails and a relaxing picnic.

Walking around Historic Leesburg, Va, we saw a roadsign pointing to Morven Park/Museum. Being interested in American history, we decided to go. We were delighted to find it less than 5 min from the courthouse. Beautiful 1000 acre park with a 1903 mansion filled with 95% original furnishings of the Davis family, former Governor of Virginia. Great, informative tour of... More

We were impressed with the size of the property, both home and farming area, and all the out-buildings and their uses. Our docent was very professional and informative and welcomed questions. The historical aspect of the home and its owners is amazing and we were surprised at the fancy decor and living standard of the owners while running a progressive... More

What a fun surprise! I stopped by on a recent work trip and was rewarded! Beautiful home and grounds played an integral part in Virginia history. $10 type was a bargain and docent was informative and delightful.

This is such a beautiful home in a gorgeous part of Virginia. The docent explained the history of the Manor and its residents very well. The Carriage House is very refreshing, showing how people got around before the automobile. Enjoy the scenery and the local wineries.

This was a fabulous house tour experience! Anna was a fantastic docent; she was entertaining, knowledgeable, and friendly. My husband and I were the only ones on the tour Saturday afternoon, and we got to ask so many questions. The house, historical pieces, and families' stories were fascinating and well worth the drive out and the price. Your ticket also... More
