Had a great visit to skyline caverns! These caverns seemed a little smaller than Luray caverns but the kids enjoyed the twists, turn, and tight squeezes in this cave compared to the wide, open pathways at Luray. Our tour guide, Kylie was very knowledgeable and had a fun sense of humor. Use their online coupon to save a couple dollars... More

We enjoyed our trip to Skyline Caverns more so than Luray Caverns. While Luray was the better cavern itself, the tour guide was not very good at managing a way too large group, but at Skyline, it was a much smaller group so the guide and tour was much better. They also had some interesting cave features not found in... More

My boyfriend just turned 40 and I wanted to suggest something special to do for his birthday trip from Boston to Washington, DC. He has a fantastic sense of adventure and he loved the idea, but was torn between going to Skyline or Luray. Boy, were we glad we picked Skyline!! We arrived around the end of the day (we... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We arrived early on a weekday and since it wasn't busy, we had one young man all to ourselves for the tour. He was very knowledgeable about caves in general and Skyline in particular. Skyline is a living cave system and was really interesting in this respect. The anthrodite crystals are beautiful. They were discovered... More

I enjoyed the tour immensely. I loved it so much it's fueled me to go to Luray. The area is so beautiful especially now that the leaves are changing. Front Royal is beautiful it reminds me of the GA, AL mountains. Well worth the trip in the fall

I thoroughly enjoyed my Skyline Caverns tour. Our guide Zander was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She explained everything from the geology to the history of the discovery of the caverns. You'll want to wear a jacket or sweatshirt since the cavern temperature is in the mid fifties Fahrenheit. I thought the tour was well-worth the $18 (senior) admission fee.

My kids (ages 5 and 7) and I all thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Skyline Caverns! The tour was engaging and interesting for all three of us. Seeing the rare and gorgeous calcite cave flowers (anthodites) was the highlight for me, they look like crystal sea urchins growing on the cave ceiling. I have seen them in museums but never... A much newer cave than Luray, this one has few stalactites/stalagmites, although it did have one huge one. It has a few other interesting features, including a vacuum locked chamber. Take the tour to find out more.

We probably should have visited these caverns before the Luray Caverns because they looked positively bare by comparison. They are much more "cave-y" with few stalagmites and stalactites. The caverns were also really cold, so wear a jacket. The teenage tour guide did a great job trying to make the caverns more interesting than they really were. The highlight was... More
