What a great surprise and find this was for a weekend walk. Lots of parking available at the bottom of Estel Road (head in towards the park). The trails are well maintained, consistent enough for safe jogging, the trees enormous (some looked to be over 100' tall) and the serenity remarkable in a suburban park. There were well constructed, solid bridges over the creek that runs through the park and a network of trails that you can easily spend a few hours exploring. There were even coyote warning signs throughout the park, testimony to its isolation - we didn't see any critters, though. This will be a regular for us in the future.

This is a fantastic park. Very shady, green, good trails, and plenty of room for runners and bikers. It's tucked away in a little community, so that's also nice--close but far enough away from Fairfax City.

We love to run/jog in DRP. it has a variety of "wildlife" to include turtles, fox, deer. my greatest memory is falling just as we finished the jog and breaking my wrist. has not stopped me from going back.

Both my parents grew up in the neighborhoods surrounding Daniel's run in the 60s, so I've been visiting this park for well over 3 decades on family visits in Fairfax. The park is always a welcome break from the endless cul-de-sacs of this part of Fairfax. Daniel's Run for the most part has always been clean, tidy and quiet. It's not very big, so not exactly a trek through the wilderness, but almost an area to get "lost" in. there are clearly marked trails and a picnic area should you wish to avail of it. I always liked going a bit "off piste" and walking the creek bed. that'll put you on either end of the border of Daniels run, ending in the ANCC golf course though, can't go much further. you might find an errant golf ball or two though. I guess if you're looking for a wee escape from your family for awhile, or somewhere for a jog or to walk a pet, this is as good a place as any to do it. For those who "geo cache" there is a box hidden off one of the paths somewhere too, a bit of fun if you're into that. All in all, worth a trip if you are visiting someone in the neighborhood, but it's not exactly the Appalachian trail if you are seeking a wilderness trek.

This is a lovely park on Old Lee Highway in Fairfax City. Since it is a city park, you know it is well taken care of. Fairfax City always does an outstanding job. The park has a playground for the kids, basketball court and tennis courts and a lot of open fields for other sports. The skateboard facitly is always popular. There are also cook out grills and tables and benches.

This park has nice trails that can take you to the exciting parts of town. Well maintained gravel trails, scenic creeks, bridges, and open grassy spaces for recreation. Nice alternative to the sidewalks along the busy and polluted roadways.

As a regular and frequent user of the park (make the round trip walk once or twice a week), I find it an unremarkable but pleasant place to walk using a well-maintained trail through the woods following a small stream to the edge of a golf course. It is an easy walk, nearly flat, and from home to the far end and back is almost exactly an hour at my walking speed. Otherwise, the park is unremarkable, pleasant enough and truly beautiful for a week or two in autumn when the leaves of the deciduous trees change color. While it is mostly woods with a few trails, there are a couple of picnic areas and a play area and there are several benches along the trails. The park is great for locals and their long-term guests, but it is not a worthwhile destination for visitors unless they are in the mood for a constitutional in the woods. In other words it is a local park mostly intended for local users.

This narrow park borders Daniels Run and offers a lovely oasis filled with trees, a bike/hike path, and in certain areas park benches.

Quiet peaceful area. Well maintainend. I used the trails for jogging, but they're only long enough for initial stages of a marathon prep. Wonderful experience with grandson collecting leaves for Cub Scouts.
