We came here for the Strawberry festival with the family for a day in the mountains. The park is centered on an antebelum farmstead and there are many trails for hiking in the surrounding foothills. The festival was well-run and had many vendors tents and...More

This park offers so much - beautiful scenery, great trails, wildlife, picnic areas. Park is superbly maintained - trails mowed, picnic areas clean and welcoming, very clean restrooms. Wonderful place for bird watching, hiking or just a casual walk.

This State Park was awesome and I will definitely be going back. It costs $5 to enter/park and there is a nice parking area plus overflow parking. As it was an unseasonably warm, the park was super crowded (especially when I left). I opted to...More

Easy parking near trails, with some historical buildings nearby. We took a relatively short morning hike up a well-maintained, shady wooded trail and then back down through an open field with beautiful views; however the park includes many additional longer trails, including a connection to...More

Hi,my 3 friends and I want to camp here. We are all 16 years old and we were wondering if we are able to camp on our own without adult supervision. Is there an age requirement?

Response from VaStateParks | Property representative |
We have to have at least one person that is 18 years old. The reservation must be in that person's name and they much be present.
I am interested in star watching, specifically, will I be able to see the Milky Way from this location? I'm concerned about the proximity to D.C. and if that will wash out the night sky.

Response from VaStateParks | Property representative |
