The perfect lake for a family or friends getaway, there are nice cabins and a swimming beach in the summer months. This park was our first cabin stay at the Virginia State Parks, and being able to bring our dog with us made it very worthwhile. We made many memories here and hope you can too!

My bridge group goes to Bear Creek Lake every year in the fall. This will be our 5th year this year. We stay in a 3 bedroom cabin and it is plenty of space for us - there are 4 us of in our group. We bring all of our food with us so once we check-in on Friday afternoon... More

The hiking trails weren't much of a "hike". it was easy walking through the woods, the trails were very easy. There are a lot of spider webs and mosquitoes. I loved the lake it was like a mini beach. The time of day I got there was after 3pm so they stopped doing boat rentals, but that would've been fun.... More

My family and I go every year during the off season. I love that it is quiet and there isn't much to do. There is no Wi-Fi, tvs, etc... The cabins are like little homes. Our boys love the bunk beds. You bring your own food and grilling items. It is all about being with nature. Pets are welcomed, but... More

This is a really nice well run park with enough to do to spend the day. A swimming area, several places to picnic with grills and tables, boats you can rent, fishing, it's all here. My son and I fish here occasionally and always enjoy ourselves. I have camped here a couple of times and while I think the camping... More

This place is just wonderful. We stayed in cabin number 7 which had no TV and no wifi which was just perfect for helping our 5 year old and 9 year old to look around them and see what a brilliant place this was. We trekked on the family friendly walking trails, swam in the lake (which is well life-guarded),... More

This is a great campground with lots to do! not great WiFi which was exactly what I wanted! Come prepared because there's not very much grocery stores close by! Archery, beach, fishing relaxing. That's what we did

Great park for families - many programs, playgrounds, trails, water activities. In season there is also an outdoor cafe by the swimming beach.

My family had a wonderful time at this park for the weekend. There were 14 of us total, with young kids, elementary age, tweens, and teens. They all had a great time. We resented the group camp site, which i really enjoyed. I don't think i would have been happy at a regular site because they had no privacy. One... More

This is a very relaxing campground with a mix of tents, cabins and RV spaces. We stayed with our travel trailer but wouldn't recommend a coach because the spaces are pretty tight. Our site was level and had a nice tree canopy for shade. The staff we encountered were super nice, the whole area is clean and even with lots... More
