We were on the island Easter week. Our granddaughters were so excited about a pony ride. We arrived late Saturday, too late for a ride. Sunday was Easter. Then we learned they are only open Friday and Saturday. We tried again on Friday. Yes, they...More

Worse than a 1 Star; NEGATIVE 5 stars -5⭐️ Wednesday October 12, 2016. Visiting Virginia from California. I knew in August 2016 I would be in Williamsburg Va., and close enough to take a day trip to the Chincoteague Pony Center as I had read...More

I want to give this place 5 stars as most things on the island are worthy of 5 stars. But I just can not do it. We usually visit in august but came after labor day this year. They have stables and an arena in...More

We visited the Thursday before Labor Day and were very disappointed to find they had decided to cancel the evening show because all of the riders had gone back to college. A mention of this on their website would be appreciated in the future to...More

My daughter loves ponies, so I thought this would be a good place to bring her! Very friendly staff. When we toured the museaum area, the girl was grooming the one pony that my daughter liked and we were able to stand by the stall...More

We've been visiting the Island for years and yet had never been to the Pony centre. The gift shop was nice and well organized .There are several ponies available for petting and pictures. The foals were adorable and loved the extra attention.

A fun experience if you gave never been to the show or to the island. Adults will enjoy this and be able to check it off the list. Kids will probably love it and want to go back multiple times. The show is fun to...More

Our two granddaughters, ages 8 and 9 took 30 minute riding lessons. It was pricey ($40), but worth it for the thrill of having 30 minutes on a real pony and actual riding lessons. The $7 pony "ride" would have been more of a younger...More

My adult children and I are considering coming to Chincoteague in late April. 2017. Will this attraction be open then? Also the site says they do Trail Rides, I was assuming this would be for adults not just kids but no one has reviewed this... Does the Pony Center do Trail Rides for adults around the islands?

They usually open in late May,
Greetings. We are planning a visit the end of August. Is there anywhere I can ride a horse on the island? Trail ride for example? I see that the Pony Centre gives lessons to children. Anything comparable for adults or an opportunity to ride a Chincoteague pony? I understand that since Assateaegue is a National Park and Wildlife Refuge there's no riding on the beach, but just would love to do something "horsey" while visiting (other than seeing the beautiful ponies of course). Many thanks.

I am not certain but I am sure the Chincoteague Island Tourist office will be able to help. Sorry for the delay in answering. Very busy at work. Hope you have a great time.
