This tavern offers a flat-rate dinner that gives diner the colonial experience of chicken, root veggies, mashed potatoes and gravy and cobblers afterward. Ladies who bring second helpings are dressed in colonial garb. You serve yourself the firs course. Food is hearty. Cobblers are yummy.

Expected a long wait due to it being Mothers' Day. We were told that it would be about 25 minutes, and if we wanted to leave someone in line, the other two of us could visit the gift shops, which we did. However, it was only about 15 minutes before we got in. First thing you do is take a... More

Ate lunch here and visited the gift shops. The food was good as well as the service who are dressed in period clothing.

We spent $350 for a mediocre steak dinner downtown the night before, so we were cautious of a tourist trap. The food was delicious! By far the best meal we had in the area. It feels a little pricey for a buffet line, but the fried chicken is outstanding.

Interesting place to see civil wars paraphernalia but the staff is very pushy trying too hard to see items to every person that walks in the door.

we were disappointed with this restaurant. it is a buffet, $18.50 per person, and only 9 items on the buffet. the food was good but not hot. drinks and dessert are not included in the price.

A nice place to stop to have a historical period lunch before your tip to Monticello. Food was decent and experience was nice.

Not La Bernadine but a great place with reasonable and tasty food like your grandmother used to make. Interesting grounds and decor.

Michie Tavern is a historic inn at the foot of Montecello. It is a place with great history, ambiance and food. It also has several other buildings with exhibits great for kids. The chicken is some of the best I have ever had. A must if you are in the area.

Buffet style lunch with limited choices. Fried or baked chicken. Stewed tomatoes. Mashed potatoes and salad. Along with paying extra for a drink. It was good to try to just one time for this type of location. But would not go back again. Not anything to rave about here. The food was okay.
