Very good, comforting food. Fried chicken is incredible. While the food is delicious the experience is also great. Take time to read about the history of Michie Tavern and shop at the stores. Very interesting.

Michie Tavern is a historical tavern. The food is classified as "southern". The food was good, but not worth the buffet price. The servers were very pleasant, but not very effecient. I will not go back. Once was enough.

It was not that long before I had eaten so I did not do the restaurant, but I did do the tavern tour, and it was very nice.

Go to Michie's Tavern. Enjoy the food - eat the friend chicken! It. Is. Delicious. And everything else as well. We loved the servers in period costumes and enjoying the shops and our buildings. A great stop before or after Monticello.

Delicious fried chicken and biscuits. Well organized and helpful staff. Highlight is the civil war guns in the shop. Nice stop for lunch with a bit of history. Highly recommend to take visiting friends here. I'll be back.

They have cole slaw. You must pay for the full meal even if you only eat the cole slaw. It is $18 adults and $11 children plus dessert is extra.
