Nice 1 hour stop on one of our days in Charlottesville. Also visit the Aboriginal art collection nearby it’s enlightening. Both museum visits are free which is always a plus.

Eclectic exhibits. Not all to my taste, but with the variety most folks could find items of interest. Good size, can cover in a couple of hours. Patio tables allow for leisurely view of Rugby Road and Mad Bowl. Worth a visit.
My favorite this trip is a recently ended exhibit "Power Play". Engaging and beautiful photographic symbolism.

The second floor was closed, and there were few items of art to view. It is free to visit so you might enjoy a peek inside while visiting the UVA campus.

The museum is free and you can see the exhibits in under an hour - it's not a must do in Charlottesville, but if you are touring the campus and need a break from the weather, this is a good place to stop in. The building itself is architecturally interesting.

This art museum on the UVA campus is free to visit and had a nice collection of art for a small museum. My surprise find was the Rodin on the stairs up to the second level. The Georgia O’Keefe exhibit was an interesting look at her early works when she was a student. They did have a few of her later pieces and a Mary Casset. It didn’t take me long to go through but that is dependent on the individual. A little gem on campus.

We really enjoyed the Georgia O'Keeffe exhibit which had been put together by students at UVA. The docents at the gallery were very helpful and informative. The Native American artist's exhibit was well done. Overall the gallery was spacious and the art is OK. I must admit that I was expecting a lot more from the UVA gallery as I have been to several other less renown university's galleries which I think are better than the Fralin. As with most of the UVA area, parking is problematic.

Small, but nice museum to see if your in town. Check the website/social media to see what exhibits they have because they do rotate. When I went, they had an Adolph Gottlieb exhibit and an exhibit on Jefferson's architecture and designs; both were good.
The famous UVA dome, as I call it, that Jefferson designed is about a block away so check that out too.
Between those two things, it was a nice visit.
