It was a very rainy day when we were here for a football game so we did not get to explore the campus as much as we would have liked, but it was pretty nonetheless. We had a nice time walking through the whole area, but we did not have time to see any building indoors besides the football stadium.... More

We were in Charlottesville to see Monticello, and decided to stroll through campus. What a fantastic place to see. The architecture is amazing and the grounds are beautiful.

A very special visit from 6 Headteachers from Wales and the Principal and Senior Teacher from a special School in Alexandria. A stunning campus.

The University of Virginia is a beautiful place with well kept landscaping and gorgeous architecture. I highly recommend a visit to the Rotunda and Lawn area. Parking is difficult and the safest thing to do to avoid a parking ticket is pay to park at a meter or garage.

Beautiful campus in town. They offer free tours of the main building and history of the campus. Students provide tours and are very informative. A must if staying in Charlottesville.

A beautiful place to stroll on a spring day. Tour the rotunda and enjoy the architecture. Be sure to stop by the bookstore--they have everything you can imagine!

Beautiful campus with lots of historical building to gawk at. The chapel is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend at least a drive around if you can't get out & walk around!

We visited the University of Virginia after touring Monticello. It was originally co founded by Thomas Jefferson and the original buildings and lawn were designed by him. The Rotunda can be seen from Monticello. It is a very beautiful campus and is worth a trip to see it.

The part of the UVA atmosphere that reveres Thomas Jefferson is cool. But the frat/sorority/secret society scene is too strong for my tastes as a parent of a future college student. It's shocking to me that a public university didn't admit women until 1970! And I imagine that it wasn't the most friendly places for African Americans until this millennium.... More

Ok, maybe exaggerated. But spent 8 years of my life here. Love this place. History is rich. The Rotunda and the Lawn have no parallel.
